He's come for me I'm going to die how does he keep finding me oh Starclan I'm going to die! Daypaw's mind whirled.
Daypaw heard Skyheart hiss furious words at him. "Never! Not on your miserable little life!"
Daypaws whiskers twitched as she sensed Willowpaw pad into the clearing.
"Willowpaw, turn around and walk into the apprentice den. Now." Redfur growled.
Daypaw could picture a confused look on her face. "What? Why? Did I do something wrong? Oh, it must have been that mouse I caught last night. Did someone get a bellyache? Should I go get-"
"Ah, Willowpaw, is it?" The Tabby loners silky voice purred. "I've been waiting to meet you."
Daypaw almost dared to look outside before she found a small hole to peek through.
Willowpaw bristled. "Who are you and what is your business on Thunderclan Territory?" she hissed. "And ... and how did you know my name? Why did you want to go get?"
The Rouge smiled coldly. "Oh, you don't know? And who were you going to see? I told there was two of you."
"What do you mean? My-"
"Her sister died." Badgerflight butted in.
WHAT?! Daypaws mind roared. I am perfectly alive, thank you very much Badgerflight!
Willowpaw gave a strange look. She opened her mouth to say something but Badgerflights vigorous head-shaking mad her realize something.
"Yes." Willowpaw hung her head. "My sister died two moons ago when she was killed by a fox."
Daypaw wanted to burst out of the den and yowl, "EXCUSE ME WHAT IN STARCLAN IS GOING ON?! I AM PERFECTLY ALIVE, THANK YOU!", but she didnt.
The tabby rolled his eyes. "Don't even bother lying." he growled. "I've run into her before."
Realization dawned in her eyes. "So it was YOU who attacked her!" she yowled, unsheathing her claws. "You almost killed my sister!"
The tabby looked disappointed. "'almost'?" he asked. "So I DIDNT actually kill her?"
Leaffoot growled. "You meant to kill her?"
He nodded, raising a paw to give it a good lick. "By the way, my name is Eagle."
Everyone gasped.
Daypaw widened her eyes. He was the mate of Rosa and supposably her killer!
Whitefur arched her back, hissing.
"So here is my offer." Eagle continued, ignoring the reaction. "Give me them, and I will leave you alone."
Willowpaw bared her teeth. "What do you want with me and my sister?!"
Eagle laughed. "Why, you, of course."
Willowpaw looked stunned. "Me?"
"Yes." He purred. "Willowpaw, if you come with me, I will give you all you've ever wanted."
Willowpaw was silent for a second. "What's the catch?" she meowed at last.
"Let me kill your sister."
Willowpaw shook her head. "No. Never."
Eagle frowned. "I will kill her either way. Just come with me, and have all of your dreams come true. Have all the power and glory you've ever desired. Rebuild the world."
Willowpaw looked torn.
Daypaw sent a silent prayer to Starclan.
"Will she really be dead either way?" Willowpaw asked.
Kestrelpaw emerged from the den. "New rouge?" he asked. "I want to join you."
Eagle gave him a pleased look.
Daypaw felt like she was going to pass out. When the soaring Eagle meets the second bird. The words echoed in her mind. The second bird is Kestrelpaw!
"Well?" Eagle asked. "Will you make the wise choice that young ..." he turned to the red apprentice. "What is your name?"
"Kestrelpaw."
"Kestrelpaw, no!" Hawkpaw cried out in dismay. "Kestrelpaw, why would you do this?"
Daypaw pushed her way into the clearing. "What is your business with me?"
Her attacker purred. "The star of the show. Welcome."
"Eagle, tell me your argument with me."
"Oh, it's not you I have a problem with. It's your existence and your mother."
Daypaw was confused. "You have a problem with Robinfur?"
The entire clan flinched simeautamesously, except for the apprentices.
"Oh, they haven't told you?" Eagle looked amused.
"Told me what?" Daypaw demanded.
"Oh, Daypaw, Daypaw, Daypaw." he shook his head.
"I expected more of the clan.
"I thought they would tell you, you're me daughter."
