(I know these previous chapters have been BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING

But never fear!

There will be ACTION here!)

Daypaw yawned.

The sun was not up yet and she had promised Rosestar that she would do the dawn patrol this time.

"Get up, Sleepyhead!" she teased Willowpaw as she walked into the apprentice's den "last time I checked, you weren't a dormouse!"

Willowpaw smiled sleepily at Daypaw. "Well, then you don't check very often!" "

Stop making all the noise!" groaned Hawkpaw from his nest. "Some cats are trying to sleep!"

Daypaw felt a pang of sympathy for him. Kestrelpaw hadnt spoken to him all night because he was mad at Shadepelt for "Punishing" him, and he was also mad at Hawkpaw for being popular.

Daypaw had checked on Hawkpaw right before bed. Well, she stopped him from murdering Kestrelpaw. Because, 1: that would have made Robinfur, his mentor and Daypaw's mother way less happy with him, and 2: Daypaw liked it when her friend was alive, even though he could be pretty annoying sometimes. It had taken some convincing for him to finally settle down and not murder his brother.

"Uh, Daypaw?" Willowpaw asked her, snapping Daypaw out of her thoughts. "The dawn patrol is about to leave."

Daypaw ran into the clearing, almost colliding with Badgerflight.

"Sorry!" Daypaw yelped.

"Next time look before you run!" he scolded. But he was smiling. He turned to the cats. "Come on, let's go!" he called, walking into the hole that was their entrance and exit. Close behind Badgerflight was Leaffoot, his sister. Then Barkpelt, and finally Skyheart.

"Hey, Daypaw!" Skyheart mowed.

"Hi!" Daypaw trotted to her side.

"How are you doing?" Skyheart asked cheerfully.

Daypaw hesitated. Skyheart knew that Daypaw had been having dreams, but she didn't know what it was about, how often she had them, or that Earthpelt didn't know why they were happening.

"I'm..." she started warily. "I'm doing well."

Skyheart gave Daypaw a sceptical look. "you can tell me what's going on, you know." she mewed gently. "I promise."

Daypaw sighed. "I had another dream last night," she admitted.

Skyheart gave her a sympathetic look. "The same one?" She asked pityingly. "Oh, Daypaw."

Daypaw flushed. "It's fine. They are getting more and more scarce." she lied.

"Mhm," Skyheart muttered sceptically.

"I'm fine!" Daypaw promised. It wasn't a lie. She was fine. They were just dreams, after all. And dreams couldn't hurt anyone.

"You are going to alert all of Dustclan with your chatting!" Leaffoot snapped, turning two the pair.

"Sorry." Daypaw and Skyheart apologized in unison.

Leaffoot looked them up and down sceptically. "It's alright." She nodded her head. "But Be quite next time. This is a border patrol, not a Gossip patrol."

Daypaw lowered her mew. "I really am fine."

Skyheart sighed. "Okay. Just ...just tell me when you aren't fine, okay?"

"Okay."

They spent there's of the patrol in silence, which was only broken by a few bird calls from up in the trees.

They had just finished patrolling the Shadowclan border when Badgerflight stiffened and stopped them.

"Rouge." He hissed. "Stay, still, and quiet."

Daypaw froze. Rouges! they haven't had one for ages! Why now?

Badgerflight slowly lowered himself to the ground, and flicked his tail at the others, motioning to do the same.

Daypaw, almost frozen in fear, bunched up her legs and pressed her underbelly to the ground.

She saw dark tabby brown fur through a thornbush.

Daypaw stifled a gasp. That fur looked exactly like the one from her dream!

Skyheart noticed Daypaw tense. She gave her a hard look. One that clearly stated, "You didn't tell me something. Why?"

Daypaw glanced at her paws.

But that was her almost-fatal mistake.

The brown tabby was on her in a second.

Daypaw shrieked as she felt the tabby swipe ate her.

Skyheart leapt at the cat attacking Daypaw, but he just ignored Skyheart and batted her away.

Daypaw swung a blow at her attackers head, but he easily dodged.

This cat was trained.

This cat was ruthless.

This cat was ready to kill.

Daypaw widened her eyes.

This cat wasn't ready to kill.

This cat was ready to kill her.

And wanted to.

(Told you there would be action and cliffhangers!
