Chapter 11

Leander
I still can't believe at what I'm seeing.
Damn. She looks surreal. Everyone was staring at her with awe written in their faces.

I can't really blame them. The woman in front of me is breathtaking after all. Thalia has changed a lot. I can tell because when I trained with her she was a lot faster and her moves were precise and unpredictable than usual.

But still. Kahit gaano pa ka ganda ang isang tao. Kapag may insecure sakanya. May masasabi pa din silang masama.
"Don't be fooled by her appearance. She is still the same fat nerdy girl." I gritted my teeth nang marinig kong laitin niya si Thalia.

I was gonna shut her dirty mouth nang maramdaman ko ang kamay ni Thalia na tila pinipigilan ako. She had a serious look on her eyes. "And your still the same slut silicone face girl that I met." Ani naman ni Thalia habang nakangiti. Everyone was silent. Maski ako natahimik. The girl who criticised her was taken a back and was laughed at by the students around her na nakarinig nung sinabi ni Thalia.

Halos hindi ko na namalayan na wala na pala si Thalia sa tabi ko. God knows how unpredictable that woman is. She can be silent and timid but be careful when you provoke her. Baka mabigla ka na lang. Hindi na pusa ang kaharap mo. Kundi isang mabangis na lion.

Thalia
I sat on the chair kung saan ako umupo nung first day. Dumukot ako ng isang libro sa bag ko at nag basa. I'm not in the mood to entertain any staring contest nor do I want to entertain any insecurities.

Father told me to keep a low profile. Pero paano? I mean. I'm not the same girl that they knew. "Beshyyy. I missed you!!" Agad akong napatingin sa babaeng yumakap sakin. "Namiss din kita Elaine." Nakangiti kong Sagot sakanya.

In an instant nawala agad yung pagka bad mood ko. "Bess. Mas gumanda ka." Ani niya na parang bata habang tumitili. I scoffed at her statement. Kahit kailan hindi talaga nagbago tong babaeng toh. Nag usap muna kami sandali ni Elaine. We were so caught up in our conversation that I didn't notice Leander's presence. "Hoy Elaine tsupi. Inaagaw mo nanaman saakin si Thalia."ani ni Leander habang hinihingal.

"Good morning class." Napatingin kami sa harapan at nakita namin ang Ethics teacher namin. He scanned the class for absentees. Nang dumako ang tingin niya sakin ay huminto siya. "Excuse me miss? New student ka ba? Where is Thalia?" Pagtatanong niya na para bang nalilito. I laughed. One week lang naman kaming nag bakasyon but only few people recognize me. I mean I get that a lot though.

Now that I had everyone's attention. I stood up from my seat. "Its me sir. Thalia Amory Miller." Pagpapakilala ko na nag patahimik sa lahat.
"That can't be. Your not her! Thalia is Fat and your not." Bulalas ng isang babae. Then another statement came.
"For all we know she has undergone plastic surgery. Trying hard to fit in Thalia?!" It came from the silicone slut.

Actually wala naman akong pake kung ano ang tingin nila saakin. Its just that. I find pleasure when I shut them up. "Why should I fit in? I'm already everything that you're not silicone face." Mariin kong sabi. Her face became red from anger. Akala ko may sasabihin pa eh. Tss. The room was filled with laughter habang pinagtatawanan nila si Selene.

"That's enough everyone. We need to focus on our upcoming event." Dumako ang attention namin kay sir nang sabihan niya kami tungkol sa event.
The ball will be in a week. Everyone was excited. I was not. I don't want no ball. Pero okay na rin since Masquerade naman. Ang ayaw ko lang is yung maghahanap nanaman ng partner.

Everyone rushed to the Coliseum. Unfortunately gagamitin daw nila ang week na toh for practice. Well. I might as well enjoy.  Minsan lang naman siguro toh mangyari. I might as well cherish it. Upon arriving at the Coliseum. We were asked to draw a piece of paper in a jar. Kung sino daw mabubunot namin. Yun daw yung magiging partner namin for this upcoming ball.

Us girls were given the privilege to chose while yung nga lalake naman ay nag hintay sa bench. I waited for my turn habang yung ibang babae naman ay nagpunta na sa partner nila.
There was only one piece of paper left.
I crossed my fingers hoping na it wont be someone I hate. Nang makuha ko na yung paper ay dahan dahan ko itong binuksan.

I sneered at what I saw. Kier De Villa.
Puta. Sa lahat ba naman ng mabubunot ko siya pa. "Lucky you fatso. You got me." I looked at the figure behind me. As I forced a smile on my face. "Everyone get into position." Agad naman kaming umayos habang naghihintay sa susunod na ipagagawa ni sir. "Sinong may alam dito ng sayaw na Broken tango?" Pagtatanong ni sir.

Nabigla na lang ako ng itaas ni Kier ang kamay naming dalawa. Shit. Pahamak talaga tong lalakeng toh. "Please come forward Mr. Kier and Ms. Thalia. I will have you practice this dance. Is that alright?" Ani ni sir. We nodded as a reply. We were told to practice in another room habang yung natitira naming mga kaklase ay mag papractice ng waltz.

"Sira ka ba Kier? May waltz na nga tayo tapos may intermission number pa." Singhal ko sakanya. Ugh. I can't stand this man. He gets me into different kinds of trouble. "It doesn't matter. I can teach you the steps kung di mo naman alam." Sagot niya saakin habang siniset up yung speaker. Tila nag usok ata yung tenga ko. "I don't need you to teach me. I know my way." I told him habang napili ako ng tugtog at isasayaw namin.

After he was done setting up the speaker's.  I handed him the tab that I was holding. "Panuurin mo toh dahil ito yung sasayawin natin." Seryoso kong sabi sakanya. "No need Alam ko na rin ang steps nito." Sagot niya saakin na para bang nagpapacool. Tss.
We stood in position at pinress ko na yung play button.

It's time to get serious. Once the music played. Our body started to move. Every move was swift and fast. For some reason ,when our body's touched my heart started to beat loudly. Our moves were in sync and when the music stopped dun ko lang narealize na andami palang nanunuod saamin.
Everyone was cheering while the others were clapping their hands.

"I dont think na kailangan nyo pa mag practice Mr. Keir and Ms. Thalia. You both danced perfectly. I admit. I was surprised. I hope to see you dance like this on our ball next week." Ani ni sir na parang proud na proud sa nakita niya. Despite all the applause and cheers. I felt like someone was looking intently at me. I scanned the crowd for those eyes. Pero wala naman akong nakita. Must be my imagination.
