Rapid, urgent knocks brought Stiles back to the state of consciousness. He jolted, jumping out of his bed and throwing away the covers that were previously obscuring his bare upper body. Opening the door with his eyes still drowsy he found the entire Charming family, together with Regina and a man he never met before. Stiles frowned, not liking the little assembly.
"It's Henry!" Stiles wanted to ask 'again?' but he decided not to piss off Regina further. "Someone kidnapped him through a portal."
"A Portal? Portal to where?" asked Stiles, completely confused, his voice rough from sleep.
"Neverland," the mystery man informed him. "You can call me Mr. Gold." Stiles acknowledged his request with a nod.
"I'll get dressed," he closed the door and put on a comfortable, plain, black shirt with some skin-tight jeans.
"So... Neverland's real?" he quietly conversed with Regina on their way towards the ship, trying to keep her distracted from needless anxieties.
"Apparently. I've heard about it, but I've never been there myself," the queen admitted, secretly pleased by the distraction.
"So we gonna pop there and ask Peter Pan and Tinkerbell for some help?" he meant it as a joke, but the incredulous stare he got from the pirate was timorous and of total bewilderment.
"You know Peter Pan?!" Hook demanded, looking at him through his thick eyelashes which were being outlined with the eyeliner he wore. Stiles had to admit that he was very handsome, very edgy, and bad-boy. Kinda like Derek, but with a more... roguish charm to him.
"Duh. Who doesn't?" Was he special or touched in the head? "Don't you read?" He didn't mean it in a rude way, but it totally sounded a little bit bitchy. Rumplestiltskin silently chortled, amused at the exchange.
"I'm not a peasant!" Killian snapped, "I can read just fine. I just don't understand why you like that monster."
"According to the books, it's you who's the monster. Trying to kill an innocent immortal teenager who never wanted to grow up," Stiles shrugged, well-aware that stories were different, but he enjoyed toying with the pirate. Regina was shaking her head in amusement, trying to hide her smirk.
"Was I... handsome at least, in those stories of yours?" asked Hook, lowering his voice to a whisper.
Stiles checked him out, taking his sweet time to watch his glutes, ignoring his parents' disapproving looks, and nodded his head. "Anything's handsome in comparison to a wax mustache and perms," Killian looked offended as if asking what's wrong with a wax mustache and perms. Regina couldn't take it anymore and burst out cackling because evil queens don't giggle.
"Okay, enough chatter, let's focus on saving Henry," Rumple reprimanded them, strutting forward towards the pirate's ship. He looked annoyed with the banter, it was amusing for a while, but then the pirate had to go and make it about himself. His dislike for Hook was palpable in the air. As much as he loathed it, Killian's Jolly Roger was the only compatible vessel for dimension-hopping, the very wood it was made out of was soaked in magic.
