Chapter six: i'm his, and he's mine.

"explain" i said, sighing deeply.

jake nodded, sighing. "when we were together, i still had feelings for another girl"

i had glassy eyes, hearing jake say these things even though it's old news. "go on.."

"so i thought that if i kissed her one last time it would go away but.." jake said, trailing off. "it didn't.."

i sniffled. "do you still have feelings for her.."

jake shook his head. "no, i don't. i only have feelings for one girl.."

i probably had more tears in my eyes hearing those words straight out of jakes mouth, and i don't know why i couldn't stop the tears from coming.

"do you know who that girl is?" jake asked, probably raising an eyebrow.

i sniffled. "n-no.."

jake kissed my cheek. "it's you"

"but that doesn't change what you-"

jake sighed, cutting me off, "i know. and i'm so sorry for making you feel like you're the less important person in my life because in reality ashley. you are the most important person in my life.

you have been with me and by my side helping me build myself up piece by piece because you knew how it felt to have your heart broken. you knew what it felt for both of your parents to have an divorce.

so, so i'm sorry for making you feel like your less important when you really are important. you might not realize this but i love you. and i am not bluffing or joking. this time i mean it, and it's really okay and fine if you don't-"

"shh" i said, putting my index finger to his mouth. "i already forgave you.." i said, with glassy eyes.

jake sat there, still gazing in my eyes. "i just wanted to see if i really meant that much to you."

jake smiled softly. "you always have meant everything to me, and you always will."

i smiled, a real true smile and hugged him like there was no tomorrow.

i know you probably were guessing if i was going to kiss him a real long kiss, but this ending isn't like no other. to be honest, jake and i are more like bestfriends then lovers. we did everything together; riding bikes to eating icecreams to watching the sunset. you name it.

i gave him everything and he gave me everything.
