Pidge sighed. It had been a long day at work. She really wanted a break. Unfortunately, she had "volunteered" (read: Matt signed her up) to read to the kids in the public library. She needed some introvert time.
She took a sip of Diet Mountain Dew to quell the already forming headache. She supposed she might as well arrive early and check out some books. She hopped in her car and drove to New Altea's public library.
She immediately walked to the YA Sci-Fi section, just to check what books they had. She grabbed "Mark of the Dragonfly" and continued walking. It seemed like a good one that she didn't remember reading. She stopped in the Adult Sci-Fi section and grabbed 2 more.
She then walked to the Fantasy section, because there was an order in which to search for books, and she was not going to mess it up. She saw one about dragons that looked interesting, "Eon", so she added it to her pile. She saw a series that looked like it was worth it, so she grabbed the first two books, "The Demon King" and "The Exiled Queen".
She checked them out and sat down at a desk, an hour until the children arrived. If she chose well, she might just be able to finish one of the... no, those were just a bit too long. Oh, well. She picked up "Mark of the Dragonfly" and started reading it.
At page 47, she realized she was thirsty, so she headed toward the drinking fountain (still reading, Matt wasn't around to police her). After getting a quick drink, she headed back... and ran into someone.
As a pile of books fell out of his hands, she cussed. "Oh, I am so sorry! I should have watched where I was going! Here, I'll help."
"Don't worry, it's not your fault." After they picked up the books, she handed them to him.
"Again, I'm so sorry!"
"Oh, no, it's fine. Really. Uh, what book are you reading?"
"It's called 'Mark of the Dragonfly' and it's pretty good. There's a mechanic and a girl who was found in a meteor shower who are trying to get to the capitol city and they illegally boarded a train. It's YA Sci-Fi."
"Oh, neat. I'm Keith. What's your name?"
"I'm Pidge. So, where do you work?"
"I work at NASA. I'm in the Pilot course. After work, I'm an instructor at Marmora Defense. It's a Taekwondo studio. What about you?"
"I also work at the NASA base. I've just been asssigned the Voltron Project."
"Really! That's amazing! My roommate and brother got assigned yesterday. I heard how big of a deal that is. Have fun!"
"Thanks." There was an awkward pause as they both tried to think of more topics to talk about. Keith's watch beeped.
His eyes widened. "Shoot, I have to go! Well, it was nice talking to you. Maybe we'll meet again?"
She shrugged, "Maybe. Nice talking to you, too."
She sat down on the couch again. As she continued her book, she thought about Keith. He wasn't too bad. Maybe it was a good idea to come to the library early.

Imagine their surprise when they were both at dinner at Shiro's house.
