Jay's POV
It was any normal today for me and my mother. We always spent time together since today was her day off. My parents served in the Survey Corps, a.k.a the Scouts, so it was rare for them to come home. My father was a section commander and my mother was captain. But the good thing was that since my father was completing his expedition today, he'll be coming home and I'm going to watch the Scouts come back.
"Excuse me, mama?", I called to her.
"Yes, sweetie? Is something wrong?", my mother asked.
"Is it okay if I go outside for a bit? I promise that I won't go too far."
"Of course you can. And I trust you to take care of yourself out there. Just be back before dinner, okay?"
"Okay! Thanks, mama!"
I kissed my mother on the cheek and walked outside of my house.
As I ventured off into the town, I was greeted by a few people. People could recognize me because of the color of my right eye. I was born with heterochromia so my right eye was a mixture of three different shades of green while my left eye was a regular brown. I've gotten the green colored eye from my mother, who's family tree was made up of several famous figures. And when they joined the Survey Corps, they've been given more recognition.
As I walking further into Shinganshina, I heard a few voices coming from the alleyway. I looked to where the voices were coming from and I saw three boys hovering over another boy with blond hair and blue eyes and a book with him. They were bullying him for some odd reason and I didn't like that.
"Don't you think all of you ganging up on the poor boy at once is necessary?", I asked rhetorically as I walked towards them.
The boys looked towards me while the one on the ground looked at me in shock.
"Like this is any of your business!", the first boy shouted at me.
"Just because you come from a very popular family, doesn't mean you run thing around here!", the second boy shouted.
"I never said I ran things around here. I just think you guys are total wimps for bullying someone who I sure has done nothing wrong to you", I said bluntly.
"What'd you say?", The first boy asked.
"I didn't know you couldn't hear anything either", I said.
"U-Umm... excuse me? But maybe you shouldn't...", the blonde boy softly warned me.
I looked over to him and told him that it'll be okay. But once I turned back to the three bullies, the third boy came charging towards me. I sighed and just tripped him, sending him to the ground. The second boy tried to lay a punch at my face, but I caught his fist and punched him in the stomach, but not hard enough to knock him out.
