Riley unlocked the door to their room, and saw Cameron grabbing a set of clothes to change out of. Everybody was still damp from the sprinklers, and Riley closed the bathroom door behind him once he entered the room.

Cameron peeked a look at the nervous Jessie that was standing by the door. "Everything okay?"

Jessie hesitantly looked at the door that Riley just walked through, and then he looked back at Cameron. "I'm not sure yet."

Cameron packed his set of clothes into his bag and walked towards the door. "I'm going to Chantelle's again so that you guys can talk. Call me if there's a problem, alright?"

"Okay." Jessie whispered quietly.

Placing a comforting hand on Jessie's shoulder, Cameron told Jessie that he needed to fight for Riley. "Don't mess this up baby brother."

Jessie temporarily put on his brave face, and covered Cameron's hand with his own. "Not again."

When the door Cameron left through closed, the bathroom door opened with Riley coming out. Riley was drying his hair with one towel while he passed Jessie his own one to do the same.

Jessie graciously accepted it as he sat down on Riley's bed to dry his hair. Meanwhile Riley did the same, but he deliberately sat on Cameron's bed instead.

The space between them felt like they were miles apart, and Jessie wanted to close the distance between them. He hated how Riley was so close, yet so far away from him.

Riley felt the same way too though. He would look at Jessie, and his body would be drawn instantly to sit next to him.

When they shared the same look whilst looking at each other, that was when Riley made his way next to Jessie. They both were sitting next to each other's sides, but neither of them looked at each other.

"Today's been such a long day." Jessie joked. He thought it would be better to ease the air before it gets too serious - despite it needing to.

Riley only agreed by nodding his head. He began to play with his fingers as his shaking leg matched the anxiety they were both experiencing.

Silenced covered the area between them two. After a while, Jessie was in the middle of speaking when Riley said the things that was on his mind.

"Let's chang-"

"What you said to me before Jessie... That really hurt me."

Riley was deeply saddened as he recalled everything Jessie had said to him. "How could you even think like that about me?"

Jessie knew that he had to face the consequences of his words and actions. As painful as it was to think about, Jessie knew it was equally as painful for Riley to hear. "I'm sorry."

"That's isn't good enough Jessie." Riley was shaking his head as he got up from the bed. "Is it going to be like this forever? You constantly doubting every action I do, because you think there's a secret motive and that I'm using you?"

"No! Riley, I-"

"Because I can't see us working if it's always like this Jessie." Riley painfully admitted, "I just- I don't want us to regret being together when one of us is looking over the other's shoulders."

Jessie got up from the bed as he was vigorously shaking his head at everything Riley was saying. "I was scared, and that's why I lashed out. That wasn't how I really felt, and it definitely isn't how I feel now."

"Then please tell me what happened today," Riley begged. "Because the way you used to hate me was nothing compared to what I felt today."

For a while, Riley thought they were always at a similar mindset at where things were going between them. They were both obviously happy and content being around each other, and Riley knew that is was more than just a casual fling. But the outburst in the classroom derailed everything that Riley understood and hoped for.
