It had just hit midnight when Jessie started to finish his date plans. He had briefly sent Riley away so that he could set everything up, and he added several things into the picnic basket that he was sure Riley would love.Sandwiches, crisps, sweets and treats, and flavoured water. Jessie noted everything he saw as he closed the basket, taking a blanket with him and keeping it by the door.
Riley eagerly came through the door as he happened to see Jessie place something down. He had waited patiently enough to come back inside, and he was curious to see what Jessie was up to.
"What's that?" Riley asked as he pointed towards the covered lump on the floor.
Jessie smiled as he held a finger up to Riley. "Wait right there."
Riley laughed at the excited ball of energy in front of him. He was glad to see Jessie so happy about something he mysteriously planned. It then turned to confusion when he saw Jessie leave through the door in an instant.
Right as the door closed, Riley heard a knock on the other side of the door. "Jessie? What the fuck are you doing?"
"Play along!" Jessie whispered as he tried to not wake anybody else up.
Riley heard Jessie knock again as he finally opened the door to Jessie. Jessie was suddenly holding a single tulip in his hand, and Riley saw that Jessie was bouncing on his feet with excitement.
"What's all this?" Riley innocently asked.
Jessie stretched his hand out so that he could pass Riley the beautiful red flower. "I'm taking you out on a date of course. This is just something I really wanted to do - to pick you up for our date."
Riley shook his head in disbelief as he watched Jessie remain proud at his romantic gesture. He didn't expect to see this kind of romance from Jessie, and Riley was loving the effort that Jessie was putting into this whole night.
"Is this too corny?" Jessie hesitantly asked when he saw Riley's reaction-less face.
"A little bit," Riley then smelled the flower that Jessie gave him, as he grinned back up at Jessie with a warm smile on his face. "But I love it."
"Really?" Jessie beamed excitedly.
Riley nodded his head as he pulled Jessie inside their room. Closing the door behind him, Riley smiled back at Jessie as he leaned forward to softly kiss him.
Jessie was relieved at seeing how much Riley enjoyed his little stint, and he felt the enthusiasm when Riley wrapped his arms around him.
Pulling back from each other, Jessie looked into Riley's eyes and saw the blue eyes sparkle. He felt giddy inside as he basked in the way Riley was looking at him.
"Follow me to our date." Jessie instructed as he grabbed the picnic basket and blanket.

The distance travelled was extremely short, as they were now stood outside the school gates. They were facing the empty football pitch on the other side, and Riley turned back to Jessie with a quizzical look on his face.
"Are we really breaking in here for our date?" Riley asked as he watched Jessie calculate their bearings in order to climb the fence.
"Don't wuss out on me, let's go." Jessie told Riley as he started scaling the fence.
Easily making it onto the other side, Jessie told Riley to pass over the things they were carrying. A reluctant Riley soon copied Jessie, as he then joined him on the other side by climbing the gates.
