Chapter 6

Lucy sat in the loveseat, reading another novel on the necessities of rosemary in health potions when she remembered the tea she was going to make. She closed the book and stood up, stretched, and walked toward her potion stand. As she was making the tea, she decided to add a homemade health potion to it. Just a drop. As it dropped into the tea, it turned into a pleasant reddish rose color.

But lucy was only satisfied for a second before she felt a stinging pain in her back. Specifically between her shoulder blades. It made her yelp in pain and bend over, starting to sweat. She heard a voice in her head, sliding in like a shadow.

"Don't keep doing the thing you know you're not supposed to do, Lucia. Go over there and do the right thing. You aren't a real brewer. You're a spellcaster. Ooo, better yet, a dark spellcaster."

"N-no.... I won't listen to you... Get out of my head..."

Another bolt of pain shot through Lucy's back, making her cry out in pain.

"Come ooon. you know you're doomed. A couple more brews and you're a goner. All this built up dark energy in your symbol is depriving your life force. And you know that. Either die or turn into a dark magik -user. And you're so pathetic that you can't even ask for help from your girlfriend."

Another spike of pain pulsed through her veins.

"N-no. I won't give in.... and i won't die. I will stay... a... brewer... ukh-" And lucy passed out on the ground, her head pulsing furiously.

Elodie and Klee rushed up the hill, their steeds panting.

"My house is just up there. My girlfriend should be home. I'll put a protective shield around the house with Lucy's help." The two spellcasters came to an abrupt halt as they reached the house. After tying down Velox and Klee's horse, they rushed inside and burst open the door.

"Oh my gods.... LUCY!!" Elodie was there in half a second, by Lucy's side. She shook the unconscious brewer but the only reaction was a groan. "No... no... what happened?"
