"Amaria!" "Daniel?" Oh lord my ex. "Amaria, its been so long. How are you ?" What in the world is he doing here. What am I thinking its a grocery store everyone shops at the grocery story. "Hi Daniel I'm good how are you?" "I'm great how have you been ?" "I've been good I'm still working for Mrs. Scarlett." God he's looking good he's grown some facial hair and gotten a little buff hmmmm. No Amaria snap out of it no back tracking. "That's great I'm glad your career is moving in the right direction." "Thanks Daniel it was nice seeing you. Bye." Now all I have to do is walk off without him stopping me. "Wait up Amaria!" He called after me. "Yes?" "Can I have your number....... Again?" "Ummm.... I guess" "Okay here's my phone" I put my number in his phone and walked to my car. What am I doing? Seeing my ex brought back so many memories. God why did you bring things like this in my life.
Flashback

"Daniel I can't do this anymore?" I said through my tears "What the fuck you mean you can't do this anymore? You breaking up with me?" He yelled I tensed up. "I said I wasn't gonna do it anymore baby I promise don't leave me please?" I cried even harder "I'm sorry" I said before getting out of the car. I'm so done with him I can't take this hurt and pain anymore.
The Next Day
I woke up about to go to class and just as I was about to leave my room I saw a teddy bear and flowers sitting on the mat outside of my door. I can't take him back. If I keep repeating this to myself I won't fall back into his trap. I'm done with him remember that Mari. I can't keep doing this.
Flashback over

That was 6 years ago. By the time I got done reminiscing I realized I was at home. This feels funny to me. I walked up to my condo and on the steps I saw an anxiously waiting Jason. "Mari.." "Jason what are you doing here?" "I had to see you... I have to talk to you" "What's wrong?" I started to open the door. "I just have to get this off of my chest" he said closing and locking the door "Wait what were you doing before you came over here ?" "I was laying down.. watching tv" he replied he sounded a little unsure of his answer he looked like he was laid up with a female. He had on a Nike jacket on with a white beater under it with some Nike basketball shorts and some Nike flops. He looked down but so sexy at the same time I just couldn't think of anything at that moment as I examined his outfit. I snapped out of it when I heard my phone ringing. I looked at my phone and saw an unknown number. "Hello?" "Hey Amaria its Daniel I just wanted to call you so you'd have my number" "Ohh okay I'll save your number " "So what are you up too?" "Actually I have some company right now. I'll talk to you later ?" "Ohh okay.." I hung up the phone returning to a furious Jason. He was steaming out of his ears. He's so cute when he's mad. "Who was that?" "Ummmm an ex..." "So you really are going to give an ex your number after the connection that we shared" "Huh? Jason what are you talking about?" "I've been trying to show you my feelings for the longest Mari you're just choosing not to see it. Damn. The way I feel about you is indescribable and your not going to see it until you accept me!" By this time I was sitting and watching him pace back and forth. Does he really have feelings for me? I don't know if I can go through this again. What should I do.

I awoke the next morning with what seemed like a million texts. Jason was telling me how much he wanted to be with me and how he didn't want anybody else. In a way I see how he feels but at the same time I don't know if I can deal with Being In A Relationship again. So I called him and asked him to come over for lunch. I made grilled chicken salads. Something simple that I knew he would like. I wanted to wait until he got here to make them. I waited for two hours before he came over. I wonder what is taking him so long. I started to put the food back up then I heard a car pull up outside. I looked out the window and it was Jason. I opened the door and stood in the doorway frame as he started to come up the stairs. As he got to me he tried to give me a kiss on the cheek and I dodged him. "What's wrong with you?" "You actually have the audacity to ask me that?" He didn't say anything "I woke up this morning and read your texts and felt bad because I was giving you such a hard time. So I wanted to discuss some things with you over lunch and here you are two hours late from the time you told me." "Look Mari I can explain" "No ! That's not even the point ! You didn't even text or call me and tell me you would be running late what is really going on?" "Mari I apologize some things got carried away I should of called you" He inched closer to me and wrapped his hands around me. I backed out of his embrace. "No Jason I'm not going to let you thi-" "Mari I am not one of your exes !" He yelled "I'm not going to mistreat you and lead you on! I want to cater to your wants and never want you want for anything! Just give me a chance!" After that last statement I just broke down and cried.
