Mari POV

After that night with Jason, I started thinking. Maybe I should give him a chance. But I know he's hiding something. What if he has a baby and a crazy baby mama? That can't be true she would have been to the office by now. I had to start to get ready I have a lunch date with Mrs. Scarlett. All business of course, but maybe I can get some details about Jason. I went upstairs and took a nice hot relaxing shower. It helped melt some of that tension off. I settled on a black romper along with some gold accessories and my nude Louiboutins and a nude clutch. I straightened my long hair and added a middle part. I completed my outfit with some light natural make up and some black and gold rimmed MK sunglasses. I grabbed my binder and iPad and left out. I met up with Mrs. Scarlett at Jay's and as always she was really happy to see me. When I talk to her its almost as if I'm talking to the Queen. "Well hello darling! You look so beautiful as always." She greeted me. I smiled and hugged her. "Good afternoon Mrs. Scarlett how are you ?" "I'm a bit hungry but other than that I'm feeling wonderful." We started talking about business and then our food come out. "Ohh and one last thing darling schedule me a hair appointment for next Thursday at 1 p.m." "Okay I have that locked in." "So sweetheart tell me how you and Jason are ? " What! Did she just ask about me and her son? I gave her a puzzled look. "What do you mean Mrs. Scarlett?" "Don't look at me as if you don't know that I know about you and him! He looks like his father but he is his mother's child." I giggled at her response. "Well honestly I don't know. I like him and I'm starting to like him more but something is holding me back" "Sweet heart if you never learn anything else from me living in the past holds you from your future. And you may lose some of the most important people in your life because of it" "I understand. So you think I should give him a chance?" "Only if your heart allows it. No one can make you do anything of feel anything. As long as you have worked for me and with me I have never heard you talk about a boyfriend or anything. Maybe it's time to give love a chance." Hmmm maybe she's right. We ended lunch on a happy note and I packed up my stuff and hugged Mrs. Scarlett goodbye. She gave me a lot to think about and I decided to call Jason over for dinner. We'll see how this goes. "Hello ?" Jason answered. "Umm hey" "Hey. How are you?" "I'm good and you ?" "I'm fine what's up?" He seemed pretty busy I heard a lot of background noise. "Well I was wondering if you'd like to come over for dinner. But it seems like your busy maybe another time? " "No I'm not busy I'll be right over" "Okay" I hung up with a smile. What's wrong with me ? I ran upstairs and hopped in the shower after I got out I lotioned down and decided to wear something casual. I slid on my skinny jeans and a loose half shirt with some simple sandals. Luckily my hair wasn't damaged by the moisture and I just had to brush it down. As if the timing was perfect Jason was at the door. I took a deep breath and opened it. Its so weird seeing him outside of the office he dresses so differently he had on some dark denim jeans a red plaid shirt on and some red retro 4's. He looked a little hood but I kinda liked it. I wonder where he just came from. "Hey" I greeted him "Hey" "You look nice where did you just come from?" "Ummm.. No where.. Just hanging out with some friends" "Hmm I bet." "Please don't start Amaria" "What do you mean? Look anyways what do you want to eat?" "Umm let me see" He started towards the kitchen. "You have to tell me so I can go to the store" I giggled. "Aww okay well maybe we can have some Hispanic food?" "Oooo that sounds nice" I grabbed my keys and headed towards the door.

Jason POV

Mari trying to spoil a nigga. She always trying to cook for me. But I don't know where she think she going looking like that. Her ass sitting too nice in them jeans I can't let her leave by herself. "Where you going baby?" "Umm to the store" she said in a duh tone. "By yourself?" "Umm Yeaa?" "Uhhh nah I'm coming with you" "Well that's all you had to say was that you wanted to come" "Well I do lets go" We went out to the store to pick up some ingredients. When we got to the store I noticed how all these guys were staring at Mari. I grabbed her closer to me. She just looked up at me and smiled. I think I'm winning her over. A couple weeks ago she would of pushed me away. We walked around and shopped for our dinner. We were having enchiladas with Mexican rice. We got to the checkout line and she pulled out her wallet. I stopped her and pulled out a wad of money. She looked puzzled. I know it wasn't because I paid for the food. It was something more. I think she's putting two and two together. Damn!
