Well this is awkward.
A bunch of students stopped to look at this disastrous occasion that that just happened, the narrow corridor is usually never jammed because the traffic flowed smoothly with the students but now it was too full until I get up.
I was running up the stairs when I missed a step at the very top and tumbled ahead, it would've been fine if I tumbled on the floor on my own, but I bumped into someone making her fall down. What's worse is that she was eating her fries and ketchup so all of it fell on me.
"Oh my Gosh! Are you okay?!" She immediately said as she stood on her knees to see my condition.
There was ketchup stain on my uniform and on my hair that I seriously think I looked like a mess. I tried to smile it off.
"I'm fine. I'm so sorry, I stumbled on you, now I ruined your recess."
She clicked her tongue, "Nonsense. Come on, we have to go clean you up."
I wasn't able to say anything because she was now practically dragging me to the restrooms. She pushed the doors open and immediately turned on the tap water of the large sink.
"I'm Lila by the way." She said as she took some paper towels to the side.
I tried helping myself by getting the ketchup out of my hair.
"Daneliya Saoirse Walsh."
She looked at me in awe. "What kind of name is that?"
She realized what she just said and her eyes widened.
"Oh! Wait-Oh my God, that was so rude... I didn't mean it that way!"
I couldn't help but laugh at her being so flustered. She looked at me shyly after she stopped rambling on her mistake.
"It's okay. It is a bit different from usual names."
She nodded and we pretty much continued laughing and talking the entire time until my hair was damp and wet but otherwise clean. We learned so much about ourselves, how we both like K-pop, Ryan Higa (a YouTuber), the color gray, rain, pink sky and etc. We shared a lot in common so we really got along well.
-20 minutes later-
I looked at myself into the mirror, my hair was now damp and wet on my head, it looked neat and also like I just took a bath. So I may look a bit presentable, but my uniform is a white blouse with a gray and white checkered necktie, and a miniskirt with the same color.
So over all I looked like I'm covered in light blood.
"Could be worse?" Lila offered a smile.
I giggled and tied my hair in a bun.
"It's fine, Lila. I'll just have to maybe cut a period to go home and change."
She tried to protest, Lila is a really good girl so she doesn't feel comfortable in cutting class.
"But it's still morning."
I shrugged, "Please, I'll be fine. We have to go recess was over 10 minutes ago."
Lila eventually gave in and grabbed her own bag as we walked out of the bathroom.
Before I even got to turn around to talk to Lila saying that I have General Chemistry for the next subject, a loud booming voice cut through the silence of the corridor.
"Hey, Saoirse!"
Lila and I turned to the owner of the voice and I was immediately met with.. Colin Olsen my long time best friend with his long time best friend, Connor Matthews.
Lila stepped forward, "Con? What are you doing here?"
I looked at Lila and Connor in confusion, "You know Connor?"
Connor smiled, "Ah right, you guys never met. Lila and I have been best friends since 9th grade."
I looked at Lila and we both shared the same idea. We were so close yet we never even met before. What a weird world.
I caught Colin staring at me.
"Woah, you look terrible, Liya." Colin commented.
I rolled my eyes and folded my arms in front of me. I stared straight into his dark eyes with such annoyance he would have scoffed.
"I know I look terrible, Mr. Blunt."
He laughed at my face, "Hahahaha that's what you get for being such a klutz!"
I growled and started to turn away but he grabbed my arm making me spin around.
His laughter died down, "Okay, okay. Just joking. Here."
He placed a large cloth on top of my head and gestured Connor to come by him.
"We have to get to history, see y'all." Colin said waving us goodbye.
Connor just gave us a small smile and they went off to their classes.
I took the clothes Colin left above my head as Lila asked me a question. I lifted the cloth up and saw that it is a hoodie, specifically his hoodie. It's the one he was wearing this morning, this is new. He never let's me borrow his stuff.
I put on the hoodie and looked at Lila. "We should get to our classes."
She bit her lip and smiled, "I'll see you around then."
I smiled back and we both separated ways.
