My face was buried in a book too much that I didn't notice Lila until she clasped her hands in front of me making me jump in surprise.

She laughed, "Get your nose out of the book and let's go to the Lake house."

I raised a brow, "On a Monday?"

She shrugged her shoulders, "Well you know, Just to have some quality time?"

I laughed and closed my locker. "How about this weekend, Lila. I have an event to attend later tonight."

Her eyes widened. "An event? What event?"

I rolled my eyes, "Debut party, I'm singing there, it's just at Dynasty Hotel. Should be close."

This was also one of my source of income, I could sing. Sometimes one of my dad's friends would ask me to sing to their parties and I could get some money from that.

"I have been preparing for this for a month now, I gotta take care of my well being especially my voice. So I also have to practice later." I reasoned out.

Lila sighed in disappointment, "Well, speaking of preparation, I wonder how Colin is doing with the tryouts right now."

My heart nearly jumped out of my chest.

"Oh my gods! I completely forgot about Colin's tryouts! His lucky coffee!"

Lila looked at me surprised then laughed, "Go get some, girl!"

I didn't wait for any of her snide remarks and ran to the nearest coffee shop and ordered his favorite coffee.

I ran through the halls with a paper back filled with two coffees inside. Swerving through the students, I successfully made it to the doors of the gym. It was almost packed which never was during basketball practices or just tryouts, but I know everyone wanted to see this Captain for the Basketball team tryouts because no one has ever competed against Colin Olsen before.

He was standing at the side warming up and talking to one of his team mates. I ran up to him and gave him a hug.

"Good luck, Colin!" I muffled against his side. Colin laughs and hugs me back then lets me go to see my face.

"I was wondering where you were."

Only then did I notice Hershey. She was beside Colin but she must've stood too close because I didn't see her earlier. I immediately step back as she took a Gatorade from her designer bag.

"Here. Colin." She handed the bottle to him. "A sports drink to help you get more energy over there. "

Colin smiled at her shyly, "Wow, you didn't have to, Hershey."

Hershey rolled her eyes playfully, "Nonsense! You're my friend and I want you to do your best out there."

I was feeling nervous about the drink I had for him now. He was going to be trying out as Captain. He needs the best energy, why did I buy him coffee? It was his favorite but it wasn't going to help him.

I hid the bag behind me trying to not let Colin see it.

"Well, I just wanted to wish you good luck."

Colin noticed my uneasiness and saw me holding something at my back. His eyes narrowed at me.

"What's that, Liya?"

I raised my eyebrows innocently bit he just gave me a smug look.

"Oh! I just bought something, nothing to worry about."

Colin knew it wasn't nothing and swiped the bag from my hands despite my protests. He opened it and moaned in delight as the smell of his favorite coffee filled his nose.
