*Three days later*
It's been three days that I've been looking for her, that is a total of five days that she's been missing. We keep finding leads that take us to a dead end. I hadn't eaten, slept, bathed, anything at all. I went to her father every day with nothing but bad news. I felt like I was dying inside. My nails were bitten to the skin, my hair a greasy mess. People tried to talk me into eating something but I either completely ignored them or snapped at them. Yes, I did feel bad for doing so. But they did not understand what I felt at the moment.
*Day 4 of searching*
Another day that was leading to a dead end.
"Mac if you keep anymore then you'll make a hole in the ground," Bozer says in a light-hearted manner.
I ignore him completely and look at Riley, "Can we go over the video again? To see if we missed something." She lets out a sigh and types on the keyboard to bring the video up again.
"I know this is just a theory but still, what if we got it all wrong from the beginning? What if, these dead ends that we keep going to, it's all a trap? Someone is wanting us to go round and round," Sam speculates.
And that was enough to get the gears running in my head again, thinking everything through from a different angle. My phone buzzed with a text, pulling me out of my mind. The name flashing on the screen made my eyes wide. It was from Jacelynn.
Maybe Jacey was completely safe and had just taken some time away from everything. But that wouldn't explain her car being left in the parking lot with her things scattered around, Maybe she was just in a hurry. I quickly opened the text without any more delay.
'Come to home Boy Scout and come ALONE -M'
There was only one person who called me a boy scout, and that was Murdoc. He told me to come alone and this man always has tricks up his sleeve to know if I was side-stepping him or not. But Jacey was at risk here so I could not do anything. Even worse was that nothing else came into my mind. I stood up and without looking at anyone walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?"
"I need some air," I hesitated. Everyone nodded in understanding. I walked out as calmly as I could and as soon as I was out of their sight I sprinted out into the parking lot and got it my car and drove off.
Reaching home as soon as I could, I parked the car in the driveway then hopped out of it and ran inside my house. The door was already wide open, which didn't surprise me much because I knew that Murdoc was already in there. I just hoped that Jacey would be in there too. Entering the living room my eyes scanned around for any traces of her, but only Murdoc was standing in the middle of the room, facing the other side. My anger raged inside me and I rushed at him, fisting my hand to punch him, only for him to turn around just in the time to sidestep my swing and knock me off with the barrel of his gun instead. But it wasn't enough to stop me. I stared at him again but this time he pointed the gun straight between my eyes, which made me stop midway.
"See dear sweet Macgyver, as much as I would love to have this little.. fight with you, your dear lovely girlfriend is tied up somewhere, screaming and begging for you to come and save her. Oh but wait, she doesn't have any idea about you or your real job. Either way, you choose, fight me or save her?" Hearing her name made the whole anger in me subsided in a moment, only for it to be replaced by pain and worry.
"What did you do to her?" I asked as calmly as I could.
"Nothing," he says casually, "Yet," he adds with a smirk.
