Midnight Nerine

Nathalie's eyes lifted, it was pitch black in the room, a little bit of moonlight shining through the balcony window, she went to lift her arm but a shocking pain shot through it, she winced, she looked over to see Adrien snuggled up to her, she smirked, he looked so peaceful. Her thumb lightly rubbed his cheek, teeth chattering, she looked to the left of her to see the source of the noise, Gabriel was shivering, he had no blankets. She looked back Adrien, she felt something coming up from her chest to her throat, she quickly covered her mouth ignoring the horrid pain in her arm, she coughed as quietly as she could. She peeled back her hand, sitting in her palm was blood and new flowers, Nathalie looked closer, Nerine flowers, the way they were sitting in the blood made it look like a mini lake with pretty trees growing out of it. Adrien began to stir, Nathalie quickly hid her hand in case he woke, he turned to face his father rolling off of Nathalie in the process. She looked at the two sleepily cuddle with each other, she smiled, but her moment of joy was interrupted by fit of coughs, this time she couldn't control the volume, more Nerine's and blood, the pain from her chest transferred into the rest of her limbs, she gripped the bed and bit her lip back to hold in her painful scream. 

A gentle touch, she calmed after she felt a hand on her's, she looked over at the hand, a thick silver ring, Adrien. She looked at him, green emerald eyes stared back at her, she could feel his worry welling up inside of him, luckily for Nathalie the blanket was covering the blood covered flowers."I'm..fine", Nathalie whispered, his grip on her hand tightened, she gave him a comforting motherly smile, that seemed to calm him down, enough to where his eyes shut but his grip remained. She took this time to wipe the blood and flowers off, as she was doing that she noticed her tablet, she looked at Adrien and Gabriel, they were both sound asleep, she loosened Adrien's grip and slid her hand out slowly so she wouldn't wake him. She grabbed her tablet and managed to sit up, she turned it on and looked at the time, 12:00, if Gabriel found out she was awake this late he would be pissed. She looked over Adrien's schedule, Breakfast, school, afternoon photo shoot, and study with Marinette. Nathalie was quite surprised when Gabriel agreed to having Marinette over to study with Adrien, well Marinette does spread a good example except the Grimoire incident. Her behavior is also better than Lila Rossi's, Nathalie never really liked Lila, her aura is evil, yeah Nathalie and Gabriel are evil but Nathalie sees more evil in Lila, she fears that Lila will take the Ladybug and black cat miraculous for herself. The more Nathalie worked the dizzier she became, her head pounded in her skull, her vision became blurry even with her glasses on, she looked around the room, it was spinning. She knew that her pills were on the dresser across from the bed, she pulled herself out of the bed, she stumbled around trying to get to her pills. Her legs finally gave out and she fell to the ground in a horrific coughing fit, more Nerine's and blood poured from her mouth like a faucet.

"MOM!", Adrien screamed, he jumped out of the bed and ran to Nathalie's side, she laid on the blood and flowers to hide it, but she knew he would see the blood, she just didn't want him to see the flowers. Adrien put his hand on Nathalie's forehead, she was boiling hot, he teared up just looking at her. "Dad, wake up!", Adrien yelled, Gabriel shot up and looked over to see Nathalie laying in a pile of blood and Adrien's hands covered in it too, Gabriel fell of the bed in shock hitting his head on the nightstand. He immediately got up and bolted towards Nathalie, he had never seen so much blood before, it made his stomach churn, "D-dad what do w-we do?", Adrien asked, Gabriel's chest hurt, his heart sped up, his breathing became heavy. His eyes shot around the room, Nathalie and Adrien have never seen Gabriel like this, he was having a bad panic attack, Nathalie put her hand on Gabriel's, "I-I'm fine, breath in and out", Nathalie said trying to calm him down. Adrien put his hand on Gabriel's shoulder, he started breathing in and out trying to get his dad to do the same, Gabriel eventually calmed down and looked at Nathalie, "Okay..um..we need to get Nathalie in the bath, Adrien start the water and make sure it's cold", Gabriel said, Adrien obeyed and went to start the water, Nathalie could feel Gabriel's panic still lingering inside of him. He looked down at her, she raised an eyebrow at him, "I'm fine Nathalie", Gabriel said, "the water is ready, I also put some Epsom salt in there to help if she's in pain", Adrien said, "Thank you Adrien", Gabriel said carrying Nathalie into the bathroom. He put Nathalie on the toilet seat so he could helper with her clothes, he looked at Adrien, he left the bathroom and shut the door leaving Nathalie and Gabriel alone.

Adrien sat on the bed, Plagg flew out of his jacket, he stretched, "you didn't tell me I was going to sleep in that cramped pocket of you'res", Plagg complained, "sorry", Adrien said, he looked down at the blood stain and noticed some flowers, he didn't know what flowers they were though, he wasn't really good with nature. "Why are those there?", Adrien asked, "I don't know all I know is that I need Camembert", Plagg said, "That's all you think about", Adrien said, "well yeah", Plagg said.

Gabriel got all of Nathalie's clothes off trying his best not to accidentally look at her no no square, he picked her up and put her in the bath, she let out a tiny scream and gripped onto Gabriel, "It's okay Nathalie", Gabriel said, "c-cold", Nathalie said. "I know but it will get the fever down and we need to wash the...you know..blood o-off", Gabriel said, it still hurt to say blood after what he witnessed, Nathalie slowly let go and put her body in the water, she shivered. Gabriel had this guilt well up inside of him, he hated seeing Nathalie like that, he also hated forcing her to do things that she absolutely didn't want to, except rest he didn't mind forcing her to do that. A few minuets later and the blood is washed off but Nathalie is shivering worse, Gabriel picked her up and wrapped her in a towel, he opened the door a bit, "Adrien can you get some clothes for Nathalie please?", Gabriel asked, Adrien nodded and rushed out into Nathalie room, the reason Nathalie had a room is because if she used the peacock miraculous that's where she would go to stay. Adrien comes back with a black turtleneck and matching sweatpants and of course underwear, Gabriel helped Nathalie put them on and carried her out of the bathroom, Adrien got in the middle and Gabriel laid Nathalie down next to him, Gabriel sat on the other side of Adrien. "Can you guys try not to take the covers from me this time?", Gabriel asked, "okay sorry", Adrien said with a laugh, they all got comfortable and went to sleep, and again Gabriel's covers were snatched from him.
