Lana had care of magical creatures the next morning, so she'd talk to Liz when she got the chance. It was all part of her big plan...

"Welcome, class!" Kettleburn smiled, "I'm happy to see so many bright smiles. Let's start with some quick questions. Mr Lee, can you tell me what kind of diet you'd feed to a sick unicorn?"

"Not buttered peas, that's for sure!" Barnaby answered, causing Lana to giggle beside him. He looked at her with his lovable goofy grin, which made her smile wider.

"Hmm...it's not the best answer, but you're not wrong." Kettleburn said, "And Miss Riviera, how would you identify a knarl hidden among hedgehogs?"

"Ooh! Ooh! I know!" Liz exclaimed from behind Lana.

"But I asked Miss Riviera. How would you find a knarl hidden among hedgehogs?" the man asked again.

"Umm...you could offer each of them milk? The knarl would think that it's being poisoned, so it would act all suspicious." Lana answered.

"Correct! 10 points to Gryffindor!" Kettleburn said proudly.

"Well done, Lana!" Barnaby grinned, giving Lana a nudge.

"Class, the reason I'm quizzing you with these questions is that I love quizzing students! It's very low-risk compared to feeding a wild hippogriff. For today's class, break into study groups. Review your notes and quiz one another."

Barnaby instantly took Lana's hand, wanting to be partnered with her. Liz joined them, and Charlie asked if he could join too.

"This is a brilliant study group!" Liz grinned once they were away from the rest of the class, "Where should we start? Handling bowtruckles? Cleaning fire crabs?"

"Why don't we talk about creatures that would cause the most chaos on school grounds?" Lana suggested, trying to get information from Liz as discreetly as possible.

"Do you think Kettleburn is gonna quiz us about that?" Barnaby asked, looking down at the girl.

"I'm guessing it may have more to do with Lana's mission to get a portrait from Peeves?" Charlie commented, rolling his eyes slightly.

"Yes, it does. That vault portrait could be the key to breaking the portrait curse, Charlie." Lana told him, "But that bloody ghost won't give it to me until I do what he wants. It was actually Peeves who let loose Kettleburn's chimaera the last time you found me duelling it." she added, and Barnaby's face turned into a frown.

"What?! He made you fight it?!" he asked, "What a fu-"

"Barnaby!" Liz said sternly, and he apologised as he held Lana's waist, who gave him a small smile, "So you're trying to top Peeves when it comes to chaos?" she asked.

"Yes, and finding a creature to stir up some trouble on school grounds is the final part of the plan. I thought that maybe you might have some ideas, Liz..." Lana answered.

"When it comes to magical creatures, I always have ideas." she smiled.

They studied for a while, Liz suggesting different creatures that could fit into Lana's plan. Barnaby was still angry at Peeves, so Lana had to reassure him with a few kisses, making him smile every time.
