The whole day, I avoided him. Every time I see him, I feel like my heart is squeezing tight, making me unable to breathe.
Now I'm home, I feel so worn out making excuses not to see him.
I slumped my body on the bed and closed my eyes. Thinking of how did I manage to avoid him.
...
It's lunchtime and I'm confining myself on the faculty, but I go out if necessary just to avoid Yibo anywhere.
"Zhan ge" a familiar voice called out. I looked at who it was, it was Yibo. I immediately stood up from my seat, flustered.
"I'll be going to the restroom," I exclaimed that made Ms. Lee and other professors inside a surprise.
Ms. Lee looked at me worried and look at Yibo, "A-Ah yes, Mr. Xiao take your time." She answered since she's just in front of me.
I immediately dash out of the room, passing Yibo.
I saw that he was about to catch me so I ran, not minding the surprise faces of the students I pass by.
I pant heavily when I came to a stop. I'm inside an empty hall, and this hall is not seldom used so it's a good hiding place. At least I managed to run away from him.
I heard heavy footsteps coming closer from the room, might be Yibo looking for me. I closed my eyes, praying that he won't find me. His footsteps stopped just outside the door I'm hiding. I swallowed my saliva.
But then I felt relieved when I heard his footsteps running away from the place I'm hiding. What a relief. I sighed. I should get going now, I can't waste my time here, I still have two-afternoon classes.
I opened the door as quiet as I can be and peeked outside, I looked left and right. There's no sign of him. I immediately went out and walked to the faculty.
..
My first class in the afternoon ended. As I was about to step out of the room, Yibo was already waiting outside the hall. I felt nervous all of a sudden. He's not looking at me, thank goodness. I walked out of the room, trying to blend in with the students swarming out of the room. And finally, I got out safely without him noticing. I sighed in relief and went to my next class.
-------
And that's how I managed to keep myself away from him.
Just then the tiredness of my body is making me sleepy, I yawned. Probably because I did not sleep properly last night. and before I knew I drifted to sleep.
"A'Zhan!" I was awakened by the loud knock on my door. I sat up. With hooded eyes, I stared blankly at the door.
"Hm?" I mumbled and yawned. I still feel sleepy.
"Yibo is here!" She said from outside.
"I'm too tired, mom," I whined and laid back in bed.
"Is there a problem, son?" She asked I can feel the worry in her voice.
"Nah, I'm fine" I answered and closed my eyes again.
"Oh, okay." She seems curious but I think she's holding back from asking. I know mom knows how close we are and it's unusual for her when I'm not talking and spending time with Yibo.
I sighed, I just need to drift to sleep again.
.
I was awakened by my alarm, I stretched my arms above my head. I feel so relieved that I had enough sleep.
