The Flame Princess

Chapter 14

     "These are my friends. The one with the tattoos, her name is Brittney, the girl with the flower in her hair and just hugged me is Sydney. The nerdy guy with the glasses is Jacobe and the guy with the awesome gloves and messy hair is Jake."

     "Nice to meet all of you! My name is Kennedy, princess of the Overlands." Kennedy said doing a curtsy with an awkward smile, and grabbing Jacks hand.

     "Jacobe and Sydney are twins with many rad skills, Brittney is tough and is our trap maker, and finally Jake he is a rad hunter."

     "Why is she smiling like that?" Brittney said rudely.

     "I'm sorry I just haven't really met other people rather than Jack."

     Everyone looked at Kennedy as if she was wearing the most ridiculous outfit ever.

     "WHAT KIND OF GIRL DID YOU BRING HERE JACK! A WUSS!!!" Brittney said angrily.

     "Excuse me. I am not a-"

     Jack noticed Kennedy's eyes were close to turning orange and pulled her to the side. Then started to whisper.

     "What are you doing!" Kennedy said angrily.

     "If you go out there and go off on Brittney you will blow your cover!" Jack said sincerely.

     "Fine! " Kennedy said angrily.

     Meanwhile Sydney and Jake went to where the bonfire will be, to talk a bit while Brittney pulled Jacobe to the side to talk to him. 

     "You know how much Sydney likes Jack! Why would you bring him here when he has a girl with him that he might actually like!?!" Brittney said angrily.

     "I'm sorry, I didn't know that he had a girlfriend! You just have to promise me to help me make sure she doesn't go off on Kennedy!" Jacobe said nervously.

     Jack and Kennedy went back to the group. Jacobe and Brittney turned around. Jacobe put on a nervous smile and Brittney looked serious. She then rolled her eyes.

    "I'm sorry I called you a baby.....cupcake." Brittney said quietly.

     Kennedy turned to Jack angrily and said "I'm going to set up my tent..."

     After Kennedy left Jack looked at Brittney angrily.

     "Will you tell me what's going on here!"

     "You didn't tell us you had a girlfriend!" Brittney said angrily.

     "She's not my girlfriend....yet." Jack said.

     "Oh! Well then..."

     Jack went to where the bonfire was and sat next to Sydney. He looked a little down but put on a plastic smile and started talking.

     "What's been happening since I was gone?"

     "Umm.... nothing really, just the usual. Hunt, camp, hang out at each others house, and some other things. The real question is what's up with you and that girl over there? Also, how could you get a girl like her?" Jake asked Jack curiously.

    "Kennedy is the princess of the Overlands and I went to her castle (not telling why). I acted like a dick and treated Kennedy like trash-"

    "So, let me get this straight... you went to her kingdom, slept in her castle, and you treated her like trash. Why aren't you dead and why are you her friend!?!" Jake said confused.
