Chapter 5 : Shrimp and Showers

"Woahhh shrimp. You cooked our favourite hon." Yibo leaned over to kiss Xiaozhan who was seated next to him. Seeing what he was about to do in front of another guy he just met, Xiaozhan pushed him away in reflex. It was the first time Yibo was pushed away so he was slightly unhappy about it.

"Sit properly and Eat your dinner!"

"Zhanzhan.. Don't tell me you are shy in front of Wangji here." Yibo casually put his arms around Xiaozhan's shoulders. Xiaozhan recalled how Wangji saw them kissing earlier and his ears turned pink. He stared down at his food hoping that no one noticed his reaction.

"He's going to live with us so you should learn to get used to it Zhanzhan."

Xiaozhan unconsciously glanced at Lanwangji, curious about his expression.

To his embarassment, he replied,
"Yes Zhan. Those type of things are normal in the States. My roomate brings girls home all the time. We're a family. Don't mind me."

He somehow detected a trace of laughter in his eyes. Was Wangji laughing at him? Xiaozhan blushed madly.

No matter who it was, he was definitely uncomfortable with wanton public display of affection. Yibo was also this way in front of his friends and Xiaozhan had never felt comfortable with it. He much preffered their couple interactions to be limited to behind closed doors.

"Seriously. Eat your food and sit properly! Otherwise I will eat at the sofa!" Xiaozhan scolded Yibo.

He smiled before digging in. He had purposefully cooked seafood and shrimp and crabs so Yibo's hands would be busy deshelling the seafood and would not tease him anymore.

"Zhanzhan, why didn't you shell the prawns before cooking it?"

Lanwangji was more than happy to remove the shells from the prawns and crabs while Yibo stared down at his plate grudgingly.

"Zhanzhan peel them for me!"

"Urggh.. fine." Though somewhat reluctant, Xiaozhan was the type to indulge his lover so he concedeed knowing that Yibo did not like dirtying his hands.

On most days, Yibo's hands were always around machinery repairing vehicles in his workshop so even after washing it clean, they always would carry the smell of lubricating oil. Thus he never liked peeling seafood since it would taste like it had been slightly dipped in lubricants. Xiaozhan knew of this fact so he did not mind doing the work for Yibo.

Who knew Yibo's eating speed was much faster than Xiaozhan's hands so the moment he was done with one shrimp, Yibo would grab another from his plate with a chopstick.

"Wangji.. Zhanzhan is a good cook don't you think?"

"Yes Xiaozhan. Your food's really tasty. I haven't had this type of food in a long while. Lucky you bro your partner cooks!"

"Lucky you too! Since you are staying here Zhanzhan will cook for you too! Right Zhanzhan?"

"Mmm Sure."

Xiaozhan thought he had cooked alot of shrimp- enough for the three of them, yet after sometime, there were no more shrimp left of the plate. He was quite disappointed since he had not eaten any yet.

After they were finished with dinner, Lanwangji got up to help Xiaozhan put away the dishes.

Yibo strolled to the living room and turned on the game console on the open shelf below the tv monitor. He thought it had been a long time since he played games together with Wangji.
