I leaned at the white wall just beside Tres's door. She was still inside, doing some stuff I could not guess due to some weird sounds it produced.
Mahigit limang minuto na akong nakatayo rito at pinagmamasdan lang ang pasilyo na wala namang tao dahil maaga pa naman.
Hindi nagtagal at bumukas ang pinto niya. Nakita ko pa ang bahagyang pagkagulat sa mukha niya.
"You're here," she said. Tiningnan ko lang siya habang sinasara niya ang pinto.
"What are doing?"
"Oh, I was cutting my wrist a couple of times. Mas mabilis na kasing gumaling ang sugat ko kumpara dati," sagot niya.
Napairap ako sabay talikod at naglakad. Nakasalubong pa namin si Siyete na mukhang pabalik na rin sa kanyang kuwarto. Why was he out this early?
Nevertheless, he nodded his head and I did the same. But I guess he wasn't done. Mga ilang hakbang palang ang pagitan namin ay nagsalita siya.
"Where are you going this early?" His voice was cold and yet so soft. We turned our backs to face him.
"Out to find Cinco," I partly lied. "How about you?"
Well, I might as well be polite and threw a decent question.
"For a jog. Cinco might be in her room."
"She wasn't, no one was there. Her room was too quiet."
I almost glared at Tres. Napaangat tuloy nang bahagya ang kilay ni Siyete. We can't normally hear someone from inside and she forgot that.
"Stupid," I muttered. "We have to go."
Muli akong tumalikod at mabilis na naglakad. Naramdaman ko pa ang pagtakbo ni Tres para sumabay sa akin.
"Hey! I'm sorry okey?"
"Mag-ingat ka sa sinasabi mo. Remember what Doctor Brew told us."
She didn't answer and remained silent for a while.
"But why are they up too early?"
Oo nga, hindi naman sila basta-basta lumalabas ng kuwarto na walang dahilan.
"Session?" I asked.
Umiling si Tres. "Bukas pa ang regular session natin. Ang totoo Uno, nakikinig ka rin ba minsan sa sinasabi ng mga doktor? Parang palagi kang wala sa sarili tungkol sa mga ganyang bagay."
Napaismid ako.
"Yes, sometimes. But I think I heard something from Doctor Brew. Magkikita pa raw tayo ulit ng mga kopyang iyon sa isang pangkalahatang pagsubok. That might be the reason. They are preparing for a difficult battle," I said.
Now Tres threw a questioning look, later on grinned.
"I could sense excitement from you. I had to take my revenge too. My chest hurts that time. How dare them strike me with thier filthy hands."
Oh, here we go again. Tres was over reacting.
"Doctor Brews actions were making me confused."
Sinulyapan ko ang reaksyon niya at blanko na ito. Maybe she was thinking the same.
"I'm just thinking it was for the better. Sasabihin naman sa atin ni Dr. Brew ang rason, maghintay lang tayo," sagot niya. For sure,Tres can be pretty useful sometimes.
"I have one more in mind, do you have any memory of your childhood days? Bago tayo napunta rito?"
She shrugged her shoulders before answering, " Nope, not a thing. Ang naaalala ko lang, narito na ako."
