That night after dinner, Edward snuck into Bella's room when Brooklyn and Emmett walked in. Brooke walked over to Bella's bed and grabbed the hand with the ring on it. She slipped it off without waking Bella knowing since she is a deep sleeper. "Here." She whispered.
Edward stretched the ring and gave it back to Brooklyn. She placed the ring back on Bella's finger and walked out with the two behind her. She opened her door and let them in. "I heard somethings as I was stretching the ring enough for it to slide off."
"Yeah, I thought you would." She said. "Edward, I'm sorry this is happening and who knows, your true mate is out there waiting for you to find her."
Edward nodded and left. Brooklyn walked over to Emmett and hugged him. "Don't feel bad."
"I ruin something for him."
"Bella is just a singer not a mate." Emmett tells her. "She will come soon." ~~~ The next day, Edward heard the truth. Brooklyn was right all along about Bella. Bella was using them. Jasper saw the look on Edward's face and knew. Edward learnt the truth. "She'll be here soon according to Alice."
"I know."
Brooklyn smiled sadly at him as Emmett hugged her. They knew Brooklyn was upset about Edward. "Brooke." She looked at him. "It's not your fault, but in order to protect this family, I will stay with her till then."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." They nodded understanding what Edward was doing. Brooklyn grabbed her things and followed Emmett. This might not end well. ~~~ Brooklyn stayed the night with the Cullens as she had a project that was due with Alice. Charlie was fine with it since the Cullens were a second family to Brooklyn, but Bella was jealous. They accepted Brooklyn, but not her fully. "Bella blames Brooke for not being accepted into this coven."
"All she did was point out the toxic relationship." Emmett stated as Brooklyn and Alice was upstairs working on the project.
"What's the plan Edward?" Damon asked from his spot beside Rosalie.
"We act like we don't know nothing and if by chance we leave, we'll take Brooklyn with us."
"I wouldn't leave her here." Emmett stated. Brooklyn was his world and he wouldn't pack up and leave without her. "Speaking of, when is the next storm coming."
"Tomorrow." Edward said. "I'll bring Bella so she won't think that we know what she's up to." Everyone nodded understanding. This was an idea that they have to follow through. For the safety of them and Brooklyn.
