His Violet Eyes

Brooklyn woke up to her alarm going off. She hit the snooze and knew what today was. First day of school in the middle of the year. Brooklyn walked to her closet and grabbed her clothes for the day. She looked in the mirror and sighed. Her violet eyes staring back at her and hoped that things will be different.

Once Brooklyn was dressed, she walked downstairs to see Bella and sighed. "Ready?" Brooklyn nodded, but deep down, she knew she wasn't. "They won't stare."

"Yes they will and you know that." Brooklyn tells her as she grabbed her sunglasses. She walked by her sister and out to the truck. Bella sighed knowing that her sister was right.

Brooklyn saw the stares coming as soon as they pulled in. Brooklyn looked at her sunglasses wondering if she should wear them or not. She looked back up and sighed as she rather be anywhere that doesn't involve people and their stares. "Ready?"

"You can go before me." Brooklyn tells her sister. "I need to calm down before getting out." Bella nodded and left. Brooklyn looked at her violet eyes and sighed.

Across the lot, the Cullens stood by their vehicles watching the humans eyeball one of the new students. "I thought there were two."

"There is." Alice tells them. "Emmett's mate is in the car thinking of whether she should wear sunglasses or deal with the stares."

"It can't be that bad." Rosalie said as they saw the other new student getting out. Rosalie saw her violet eyes. "Now I see why."

Emmett looked and saw his beautiful mate. He noticed the violet eyes, but he really didn't care as he noticed the way she looked down that she hated the stares. "Guys." Emmett said as the others looked and sighed. "She hates attention."

Inside, Brooklyn noticed Bella had left the office making her sigh. "Typical." She mumbled as she got her schedule. Once she had everything, she started walking towards her first class. Brooklyn was looking at the schedule when she bumped into someone. Before she fell, a pair of arms caught her. "I'm so sorry."

"It's my fault." Rosalie said as her mate walked up behind her. "I'm Rosalie and this is my mate Damon."

"It's nice to meet you." Brooklyn said as she looked at the boy who was holding her. "And you are?"

"Emmett."

"Thank you Emmett." Brooklyn said. Rosalie and Damon watched as gold and violet eyes stare at on another. "I'm Brooklyn Swan."

"Do you need help, Brooklyn?" Brooklyn looked at Rosalie and nodded. She handed over the schedule. Rosalie looked and rolled her eyes. "You'll be meeting Alice in this class."

"Alice?"

"Our sister." Damon and Emmett tells her.

"Okay." Brooklyn grabbed the schedule and looked at the three. "I hope to see you three at lunch or in class."

"Same." Damon replied as Brooklyn walked away. "She's friendly."

"She's special." Rosalie tells her mate. "We need to keep her safe."

"I'm not staying away Rose."

"I didn't mean that, Em. I meant that by any chance that someone could harm her." Rosalie said. "I would hate to see that girl hurt or in danger due to someone's stupidity." Damon and Emmett nodded knowing that Brooklyn was special and she was also Emmett's soulmate meaning she would always be protected.

Brooklyn walked out of her fourth period class with relief. She hated the stares. Jasper walked out and saw the violet eyed girl and walked over. "Are you okay?" Everyone around them were shocked that Jasper Hale talked to the new girl knowing he never speaks.

"Not really." She tells him. "Everyone keeps staring because of my eyes."

"Come on." Jasper said as he started walking leading her away.

"Thank you." Brooklyn tells him.

"Anytime." Edward saw Jasper with Emmett's soulmate and wondered why till he read Jasper's mind about the stares Brooklyn was getting. Edward walked over and smiled at Brooklyn.

"Jasper." Edward said making Brooklyn look at Edward who was shocked by her violet eyes. "Your the new student."

"One of them. I'm Brooklyn."

"Edward."

Emmett saw his mate and smiled. "Hey." Brooklyn smiled.

"Hi."

"Ready for lunch." Brooklyn shook her head. "Ignore them." Emmett tells her making her nod. They all walked in one at a time. Bella smiled as she saw someone protecting her sister from the stares.

"I don't see nothing special about her." Jessica said. "She has contacts in making her eyes violet."

"No." Bella spoke up. "She can't wear contacts cause the colors don't last with her violet eyes appearing. She was born like that."

"Why are the Cullens with her when they don't talk to other people than?"

"They know what it feels like to be stared at all the time." Angela tells her friend.

Emmett was ready to kill Jessica, but Brooklyn kept her hand in his because she felt like he was about to murder someone.

By the end of the day, Brooklyn was comfortable around Emmett and his family. Emmett stood by waiting for her making her smile. "You weren't kidding?"

"Nope." He said. "I told you that I will be right here waiting for you." Brooklyn smiled. "Now let's go." Brooklyn smiled as they walked towards the entrance of the building just for Edward to rush by them. "I'll talk to you tomorrow."

"Okay." Brooklyn said confused. Bella walked over after Emmett left. "What is Edward's problem?"

"I don't know." Bella replies. "Do I smell?"

Brooklyn looked at her weirdly and shook her head. "Maybe his having an off day, but I don't know, he seemed fine at lunch."

"Maybe someone said something that made him upset." Bella said. Brooklyn shrugged not knowing the real reason. Once she got outside she felt eyes on her causing her to look and see the Cullens minus Edward looking at her. She waved at them making Alice happily wave back before the girls got in the truck and left.

"She's not worth it." Emmett tells Edward.

"Is Brooklyn worth this?" Edward fires back.

"Of course she is." Damon jumped in. "She's Emmett's soulmate."

"He needs to stay away from her and let her have a human life."

Damon growled. "He can't. She's Emmett's soulmate." Damon scoffed as his eyes turned black from his anger. "You rather see Emmett in pain as you go through it." Edward stayed quiet. "Don't ever tell him to stay away." Emmett glared as he got in his Jeep with Jasper and Damon following. Edward realized that he shouldn't have said that. Brooklyn Swan is the soulmate of Emmett and became something special to the Cullens.
