The pillow was yanked out under her head, and Eliot let out a pained groan. "What the fuck-"

"Wake up! I need you to do some stuff for me."

She blinked her eyes at the glaring sun instilling inside her room through the window by her bed. The soft yellow printed bed spread lay under her with white washed walls surrounding her.

Her room was small but she had her own bathroom and narrow but good enough closet space.

Eliot stretched, pulling herself up to a seated position. Instantly last night's thoughts registered in her.

Octavius.

After shopping, she slid against his warm back on his bike with cool wind whipping by her, she felt different. For some reason, he seemed to make sure not to break contact with her. Her breasts were pressed upon his back, and she felt the tensed muscles contract harder when they met the occasional bumps on the road.

When he dropped her back home, he hadn't stayed behind and just told her that he'll see her soon.

She hadn't realized she had been counting on his words. Stupid stupid stupid.

"So what do you need me to do? Wait is that the time? It's six in the morning! What the fuck! You better have a good reason for waking me this early."

Elixir clapped her hands. "Yes, in fact I do. I'm a hosting a dinner because I have a surprise."

She wore a lovely pink floral dress. Her hair made up into a updo bun. She always was the early riser.

Eliot arched her brow. "Can I know the surprise now?"

"No. It's a secret and you'll be there when I say it."

"Okay fine. What do you need me for?"

"You have to go to the farmer's market and get a bunch of stuff for me." Elixir shoved a long list of scribbles into her face. "Chop! Chop! Hurry before all the good stuff run out."

Eliot groaned. "Okay, fine." She shook out of the blanket and went into the bathroom to freshen up.

When she heard Elixir follow her, she looked over her shoulder. "Can I help you? Or are we going to floss together?"

Elixir leaned against the door frame, folding her arms. "I wanted to ask you something. What did you think of...Octavius?"

Trying to pretend that question hadn't already filled her head with all sorts of answers she could have provided, she managed to squeeze out the paste onto her toothbrush. "He is cool."

Eliot turned to her before placing the brush into her mouth. "Are you interested in him?"

Again, a well known flush drowned her skin.
"Oh no...it's not like that. He doesn't see me that way."

Classic Elixir. Is her sister really that stupid? That dumb? Could she really not see or understand that there was the weird thing hatching between them like Eliot saw last night.

Yet even when she wanted to tell her that Octavius may return his feelings she remembered how his hands felt against her waist.

Unconsciously, they were imprinted on her skin.

She was stuck in the middle but how can she be? She barely knew this guy. She had no connection with him and to begin with, her own sister didn't want her to find out about him.
