Frankie walked into the Duncan's kitchen excited and saw Amy there, "you won't believe it!"
"What?" Amy asked.
Frankie was bouncing on her feet but than stopped rembering rule six but she really wanted to tell someone. Frankie frowned, "I can't tell you."
"Okay." Amy said.
"But I really wanna!" Frankie whined.
"Then say it." Amy told her.
Frankie sighed, "I hate rules. Why did have to rules in our friendship?"
"Wait, Friendship rules? Is this about Gabe?" Amy asked her.
"Can't say. I'm sworn to secrecy." Frankie said.
Gabe walked in, not seeing Frankie, "Mom, can you help me with something?"
"Sure, honey." Amy looked away from Frankie, "What can I do for you?"
"Did you tell her?!" Gabe asked Frankie once he noticed.
"Have a little more faith in me." Frankie said offended as if she didn't almost tell her, "rule six, remember?"
"Rule six is no stitching." Gabe told her.
"Wait." Frankie held her hand up, "are you saying that I could have told her?"
"No! Do you want me to tell your mom that-"
"Fine, continue." Frankie grumbled sitting on the chair.
"Mom, I have this friend and he needs to know how to talk to girls." Gabe told his mom. Frankie gave him a look, she's a girl.
Amy finally understood, "Does this friend have a name?"
"Nooo-rman."
"Nooo-rman . That's an odd name."
"Well, I think he's from nooo-rway." Gabe told her.
Amy chuckled, walking over to hug him, "Gabe, honey, I'm your mom. You don't have to be embarrassed about telling me your first crushywushy."
Gabe pulled away from the hug, "I'm just gonna go look it up in the internet."
"Oh, No no no, it's okay." Amy grabbed his forearm stopping him from moving, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Amy sat on the chair, "okay, so what have you said to her so far?"
Gabe sat in front of her, "Um, I said, 'that was juice, not pee.' And then she walked away."
"Oh, Noorman." Amy sighed.
"Don't know why she did, it's a real conversation starter." Frankie shrugged than got a glint in her eye and smiled, "and a perfect opportunity to use you. I wish I didn't have detention now."
"Can you wait upstairs?" Gabe asked her.
"Fine, only because this crush talk is going to make me sick."
__________
Frankie walked towards her house and saw PJ on the front step talking to her mom, wearing his uniform carrying Charlie.
"...It's been so hard since mom's been in the hospital, we almost had to sell Charlie." PJ told Brianna, feigning a sad look.
Frankie sent him a look, "mom, Pj's lying. Amy is fine. Whatever he wants tell him no."
Brianna pulled out a couple dollars and gave it to him.
Frankie walked passed them and entered her house. Brianna told PJ a quick goodbye and followed her daughter, closing the door, "not at the Duncan's?" Frankie shrugged. "Anything new?"
"Gabe has this crush." Frankie said sitting in the living room couch.
"Really?" Brianna asked, "are you okay?"
Frankie looked at her mother's hand which was on her shoulder, "As long as they don't become best friends and Gabe breaks rule number two than I guess I'm fine."
"She won't take your place, remember how long his first crush lasted?" Brianna sat next to her daughter, putting her arm around her.
Frankie nodded, "a day after she said she likes Ms Dabney."
"Your dad was my best friend in college." Brianna told her.
"Really? That's kind of sad." Frankie responded.
"I had other friends." Brianna said.
Frankie hummed, "where's Caleb?"
"Father son day."
"The only time I want to play with him." Frankie sighed.
"We can have a mother daughter day."
__________
"Where were you?" Gabe sat in the living room couch next to Frankie, "you missed a lot."
"What did I miss?" Frankie asked staring at the paused TV, her mother was in the bathroom.
"Ms Dabney has a sister who's nice and gives out candy." Gabe started.
Frankie stared at him wide eyed, "you're lying."
"I told Kit that my parents are divorced, I live with my mom, and I'm allergic to nuts. And than she came over with her mom. She found out I lied and now she hates me." Gabe finished.
"Who's Kit?" Frankie asked confused.
"The girl we were talking about." Gabe responded.
"Well you shouldn't have lied to her but there will be other crushes." Frankie shrugged.
"She probably would have been boring anyway. I don't think she plays video games or watches TV." Gabe said causing a gasp to escape Frankie's lips, "you're kidding?! No video games or TV? You are bad at picking them."
"You're bad at picking them too!"
"Not true! I've never picked anyone!"
"You had a crush on PJ!"
"I was six! He was cute!"
"Rule number one!"
"That didn't exist then!"
