The Shadow Creature
I awoke late at night for some reason... only to realize that I couldn't move. Amid my struggle to move, I started to feel a weight on my chest. It felt like I was drowning in the open air and I looked around to find the reason for my paralyzed body.
As my eyes got used to the darkness around me, I noticed the dark shadow like figure staring at me from the other end of my bed. It looked curious... yet ravenous at the same time, as if I had done the creature wrong.
I could feel the weight on my chest growing heavier with each rushed breath. My screams didn't pierce the air. The shadow creature's hands reached for my feet.
As I was dragged across my bed, I thought about all the things I haven't seen yet, all the people I had yet to meet. My silent screams, the last sound to exit my throat as I left this earth.
