Walking in silence wasn't really my thing, but Brent was giving me the silent treatment ever since this morning. I couldn't take it anymore! Why oh why. Brent's walking a few meters away ahead, carrying the leftovers of our supplies. I know we were both physically and emotionally exhausted, but this was too much. I'm not used to be treated like this. The tension hanging between us was intruging me to speak up. Why oh why? Why do I have to break the silence? Ugh.
I paced my pace. Should I do this? I can still back out though? I don't want to pee myself in front of him. No. No. No. No. So...I guess I should back...No! No daughters of Wavler William would be a coward. Especially me.
"You can do it!" My inner self assured.
"Hey,"
"Hmm?" Brent made a quick glance before returning his attention to the map.
"So...." Pull it together Wilma! talk talk talk talk!
"Hungry yet?"
Great. My mind sarcastically thought.
"What?" Brent asked, brows knotted into a frown.
Oh boy. Me and my stupid slow working brain.
"I don't understand you My," His voice was stern, giving me the look my father would often give whenever I'd done something wrong.
"how the hell you're able to think about food in our current situation?" He sneered. Oh boy.
"I-I-I w-as j-u-st askin--," I managed to stutter but immediately stopped when he waved me off.
"Just shut up, stuttering isn't going to help," he uttered slowly as he ran his fingers through his hair.
You know...I've never thought about it before but...looking at Brent like this literally blew my mind away. He's hot as fuck--what? No. No. No. No. Stupid mouth. Oh no! I'm a potty mouth now? Just great.
"What are you staring?" Brent's deep voice dragged me back into reality.
Before I could reply, something caught my wrist...and I flew.
