Your POV
"Miss. Y/N, Miss. Y/N" A voice called out my name multiple times and the owner of that voice was shaking me gently by the shoulder. "I think it's time you wake up, we're here." I blinked my eyes open and looked around to find Park Jimin's three workers looking at me from outside the SUV.
I fell asleep? I was way too nervous to even lean back on the car seat so how did I manage to fall asleep? "Sorry... we're here?" I sit up and fix my clothes. "What time is it?" I didn't bother hearing the answer as it really didn't matter. I stepped forward, with the help of Jung Hoseok who held my hand gently and helped me sit up to get out of the car.
Kim Taehyung stood beside him and a group of guys. My eyes quickly traveled from them to the mansion right in front of me. The place looked ten times bigger than any mansion I had seen on dramas and by the entrance stood a bunch of maids as if the people who lived in there were to be royalty.
"Are you ready Miss?" A voice spoke up from beside me and I found myself jumping in surprised to only be met with Jeon Jungkook. "I'm sorry- I didn't mean to frighten you." He looked amused.
Am I ready? I'm supposed to be meeting the parents of my false husband and haven't been told anything about what to do and say in front of them. "As ready as I can be... Is Park Jimin-"
The doors busted open, loudly, may I add. Through the door walked out a couple dressed in formal wear, as if they were attending some sort of party or event but at the same time it looked like this was their normal everyday attire.
Their faces were adorned with warm, bright smiles as they were met with my confused expression. The beautiful woman quickly walked up to me, arms spread out for a hug and I was forced into awkwardly accepting it. She felt warm and smelled of roses. Her hair although graying, it was a beautiful shade of black. She looked like what one would think the word 'elegance' would look like.
"Oh, it's such a beautiful evening. It's so nice to see you in person! I'm Mrs. Park, and I've been so excited to meet you as soon as I heard you and my son suddenly got married without telling us." She pulled away from my arms and put her hand out for me to shake. Despite my confusedness, I forced my best smile and shook her hand. "Now, this is my husband, Minhit's former president." She stepped to the side, giving me a view to her husband.
He bowed slightly and smiled. I obviously bowed back fast and at the perfect 90 degree angle and greeted him. "It is very nice to meet the two of you. Sorry to pop in sosuddenly." I bowed again, truly apologizing and feeling bad for having to pop up at their house out of nowhere.
"Let's go inside and have a little chat , yeah?" I nodded my head with a soft smile and followed the couple inside the huge mansion. Jung Hoseok and Kim Taehyung walked behind me, following us into the mansion whilst Jeon Jungkook was nowhere to be seen. He was probably done with his end of work and went to talk to Park Jimin... wherever he is.
My lips parted, shocked by the interior of the house. It was twice as elegant as the outside. Should I even be allowed to breathe the air in this place?
The furniture looked fresh. Clean and new. They probably replace everything in this place every month. The walls were loaded with abstract paintings which I'm guessing are very expensive despite them looking like they were done by a five year old. I looked up and saw the big dazzling chandelier that lit up the room with the crystal designs reflected by the light. I looked in every direction possible, witnessing the beauty all around me. It felt like a real life barbie doll house but less pink, obviously.
"Ahem." I was snapped back to reality when I heard Hoseok clear his throat, as if trying to get my attention. I then continued following the Parks to end up in the huge living room which was just as beautifully decorated.
"Please, do take a seat. We don't bite." Ms Park pointed to where I could sit, a wide grin on her face. She and her husband sat on the couch in front of me.
"Would you like something to drink Miss? Coffee? Tea?" A lady came up to me holding a tray that had both the offered drinks on it.
"Tea would be nice, thank you." She placed down the tea on the coffee table and walked away. I looked at Mr. and Mrs. Park to see what it was they would say to me.
"We didn't even get to meet you before the engagement, since everything was so rushed. Our son didn't even introduce you to us. I mean, we know nothing about you." Mr. Park laughed, but it sounded pretty sarcastic on his end. "So will you introduce yourself?" He took a sip of his tea after talking.
I hesitated. What am I supposed to say? Should I tell them the truth about who I actually am or just lie to them? No, no, Y/N don't lie to your elders, it will probably cause more harm than good.
"Well my name is Kim Y/N. I'm the eldest daughter of Kim Y/F/N , the president of the VELVET company." Mrs Park's mouth shaped into a little 'o' after hearing I was the daughter of the president of the stupid VELVET company.
"...I'm 22 years old, currently working as a restaurant employee.." I let out a small breath and smiled afterwards. I kept my eyes focused on the Park couple to see if anything I said was off or alarming.
"Wow. You sound like a very independent woman Miss Y/N." I let out an involuntary small laugh followed by a wide smile. "So, if you don't mind me asking... do you live by yourself or with your family?"
"I moved out of my family home once I started working. I'm living by myself in a small apartment." There was a very long pause between me and the Parks. Did I fuck up again?
Mr. and Mrs. Park exchanged looks. Mr. Park's eyes widened, suggesting an idea suddenly came to mind.
"I'm glad to see my son has fallen in love with such an independent woman. I'm assuming you're moving in with him as soon as possible?" All it took was a sharp inhale for me to be choking on my tea. I hadn't spoken to Park Jimin about this... I haven't spoken to Park Jimin AT ALL.
I was only suspicious at first, but it is clear now that Park Jimin's parents believe this marriage to be a real one. With that information alone, I know that I have to pretend to be in love with a man I haven't even spoken to. Hopefully the whole moving this will all just be a lie to convince his parents.
I turned to Kim Taehyung and Jung Hoseok, raising a brow to see what I'm supposed to say. The calm look on their faces did not help at all as they were avoiding all kinds of eye contact. Guess I'll just joke around.
"Haha... I can also live alone in my own apartment until we have the wedding ceremony." If there is one. They didn't like the suggestion at all. After the silence, I forced myself to fake laugh, "Of course it's all a joke! Why wouldn't I be happy to move in with Park Jimin as soon as possible?" The serious expression on the Park's faces turned into slightly amused ones.
The mother was the first to speak. "Honey, you almost had me believing you were gonna be the first to break family tradition!" She laughed and I forced myself to laugh as well, trying to find out what it was about. "You always move in one year before you get married to see if the living together situation is proper for the two of you." Thankfully she explained it right away.
"What if I were to live by myself though...? Rhetorical question! Obviously!"
"Miss Y/N! If the paparazzi and news reporters find out that Park Jimin's wife is living by herself there would be so many rumors! It would ruin the family name! Goodness me..!" Mr. Park placed his hand on his wife's back, rubbing circles around while telling her to calm down.
I guess I have no choice but to agree to it... do I?
I smiled and tilted my head. "Alright then Mr. and Mrs. Park, I guess I'll be moving in as soon as possible." The smiles on their faces were a little too blinding and saying no to those faces seemed almost impossible.
