The air was filled with a warm sweet scent of earl grey tea. (Y/n) sat there at the dinning table of Kenma's house that was just next door to Kuroo's. The house was nice and cozy unlike Kuroo's house it gave off a perculiar feeling you've never felt before.

A black haired woman maybe in her early 30's had sat herself in front of you, a tea spoon in her hand as she stirs the hot substance in a fragile tea cup. Her catlike eyes were sharp as ever observing your petite figure but the smile she wore had given you a motherly vibe to it helping you to loosen up.

"Kozume!! Aren't you gonna introduce your new friend to me." She said the words slipping out from her mouth cheerfully as she glanced to her son.
"It's not all the time you bring home a new friend with you....hmm... Actually its your first, even I had to introduce you to Kuroo at first." She chuckled thinking of the first time her new neighbors came over to introduce themselves.

"Hmph.." The smaller boy pouted a light pink brush crept up his cheeks embarrassed.

"Umm... My name's (Y/n) (L/n) its nice to meet you Ms Kenma.." You spoke up a hint of proudness shown a bit as you shared your name with the lady.

"What a lovely name!" She smiled making her look angelic at the moment. "Are you hungry? Why don't you join us for dinner?" She offered, getting up from her chair to go get something but she stopped in her tracks when something popped up in her head. "Oh...but we'll have to phone your parents right? We can't have them worrying where you are can we." She took her seat again taking a her phone from her pocket. "Do you remember their number?" She asked giving you a questioning look.

"Oh...." I looked up to Kuroo and Kenma who were sitting next to you then back to the lady in front of you. "I-I dont have any parents." You muttered but it was just enough for her to hear as the look on her face changed from her cheerful self to a more concerned look. "They left me a while ago....and I don't know where to go anymore....I ran into Kuroo and Kenma and they took me home because of my ankle..." I looked down at the table a wave of sadness hitting me as I conclude all the events of the day leaving out the 'other' parts as a secret that'll only remain between her and the two other boys.

It left the lady speechless. It wasn't exactly the first thing that came to mind when she saw the petite girl by her doorstep. Her fragile heart might have stopped for a bit, seeing how young the small girl was all alone in the world with no sense of direction for where she'll go.

"Then maybe you can stay here for a bit....if you'd like of course! No pressure darling" The words flew out of her mind without a second thought, determined to help out the young child.

"Are you sure thats okay mom? It won't trouble you would it?" Kenma asked just for confirmation. Though the thought of you staying did make his lips curve slowly into a small smile.

She nodded. "Dont worry a thing dear! We have plenty of room for more than one person anyways she'll be great company for the both of you whenever I go out." She glanced towards Kuroo with a playful grin plastered on her face knowing how awkward it can get with just having the two alone together. "Well... What about some cookies while I go cook something up for dinner since you all look quite exhausted today." She hurriedly went off but was stopped by a  tiny pair of delicate hands.

"Thank you......miss...." You said your eyes tearing up in the moment.

"It's fine! It's fine! Don't worry sweetie you're family now. Just relax for a bit and I'll go get us some treats, okay? ..... Oh... and just call me mom even Kuroo calls me mom sometimes. Make yourself at home sweetie." She patted your head and then went somewhere in the kitchen returning with a round shapped container filled of cookies. She then disappeared back into the kitchen probably preparing for dinner.

You picked up one of the cookies munching on it bit by bit. The pastry melted in your mouth. It was delightful and you couldn't help but smile at yourself. You weren't hungry since you didn't really need to eat but dang were those some good cookies. They were definitely gonna be your new favourite.

Your eyes wandered around the room and soon landed on the two boys seated next to you. Kenma was back on his game console while you saw Kuroo gobbling up some cookies too.

You were happy that you wouldn't have to spend another night alone in the woods but at the same time you were nervous thinking about how much you'll interact with your new 'friends'. It's quite rare for you to interact with other kids your age- well at least with one who didn't constantly bully you.

But deep down somewhere you felt as if someone was reassuring you that everything's gonna be alright. That everything will be fine.

Oh, how wrong you were.
