Marcie walked into her closet, closing the door to the safe room behind her. We sat in silence for near to twenty minutes before Marcie came back. Jacob was napping and neither Kaleb or I could find anything to discuss.
Finally something hit me, Hensley may be our supplier, but if we can find his we can stop the drugs from even coming into L.A..
"Kaleb, you worked for Hensley directly correct?" I whispered softly.
"Yes, why are you asking, I thought we were going to get out of here." Kaleb replied with tension in his voice.
"We are getting out, but for now I just want to find out how to cut of his supplier, because if he doesn't have drugs, then L.A. can get cleaned up, at least this part of it." The two of us exchanged looks, silently.
"His supply comes in once a month, he picks it up at a port in San Jose. The shipment normally comes in on the first Monday of every month." I decided not to ask my follow up question, knowing he was already mad enough as it was.
"Oh. Okay. We should be out of here by then. I guess I don't have enough time to find out where the shipment is coming in from." I sat and waited for a response.
Almost five minutes later the silence was finally broken. "It comes in from somewhere in Iraq. I'm not sure where, all I know is we're messing with something we don't need to get into."
"We don't have to get involved all the way, we just need to tell a P.I., that we know where the shipment is coming from for the biggest drug cartel in L.A.. Then we can get out of here, and nothing will ever come of us doing this."
"So what. I don't want Hensley to be tipped off knowing that we're informants, because to be completely honest I don't want to be shot." Kaleb bluntly stated.
"Okay look, here's the thing, I don't care about getting shot. Your mom can take care of Jacob if it came down to it. I trust Marcie. But listen we need to get the D.A. involved either way. I'll go with out you if you decide that you don't want to." I shifted waiting for an idea.
Thinking, I got up. "Where's the shower in here. I really need one. I'm tired, maybe that will wake me up."
It's through that door, I put the clothes on the vanity, when my mom brings them in. I'll keep an eye on Jacob, so don't worry." Kaleb stood up, and walked me to the bathroom.
I began thinking about how large the safe room actually is. Normally when I would think about the size of one. I would think a small enclosure, where you can only go for an emergency situation.
