"You don't sleep that hard wake up." Chanyeol grumbled after opening Chaeyoung's door. She woke up immediately since her head was pressed against the window.
Chanyeol grabbed the dress bag from his back seat before walking towards the front door.
Chaeyoung stretched after getting out the car and grabbed her belongings. She rolled her eyes after seeing Mr. Jeon and Jungkook cars parked in her driveway. Her dad had opened the door for Chanyeol, so Chaeyoung could hear Jungkook's voice inside.
She walked into the house still rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "Hello everyone."
"How did the dress fitting go?" Mr. Park asked.
"The same as how they always go." Chaeyoung yawned. "I'm going to take a shower."
Chaeyoung excused herself from the group and went into her room.
"I'll be right back." Mr. Park said to Jungkook and Mr. Jeon. "I need to talk to Chanyeol for a moment."
Chanyeol followed Mr. Park into his office before shutting the door.
"The boutique had been bombed right after you left today."
Chanyeol's eyes widen in shock. "Are you sure? I didn't hear anything while I was driving."
Mr. Park nodded. "It happened five minutes after you guys left. I had someone on my team look into the security footage from the store across the street, but it was a dead end again. There's no similarities."
"Good thing we got out of there early. What happened to the workers?"
A sadden look took over Mr. Park's face. "All of the workers unfortunately died. The bomb wasn't big enough to wipe out the entire plaza, but the store was destroyed and there was slight damage to the stores neighboring it."
Chanyeol nodded his head, taking in all the information he'd just learn.
"Look, I understand If you don't want to continue working as my daughter's bodyguard. This job is more dangerous than I thought."
Chanyeol shook his head. "I can handle myself. All I have to do is make sure I watch out and make sure we're safe, sir."
Chanyeol knew no matter how dangerous the job is he couldn't quit. He couldn't go back to killing strangers for two hundred dollars a month.
"Hey Greg," Mr. Jeon said while opening the office door. "I'm going to head out. I have an early meeting."
"Before you leave, let me introduce you to Chaeyoung's new bodyguard." Mr. Park said while gesturing to Chanyeol.
Chanyeol put his hand out for Mr. Jeon to shake. "Park Chanyeol, sir. It's honor to meet you."
David Jeon is the Lower East Sides only success story. Lower East Siders looked up to him because of his "If I can do it, you can too," message. It wasn't common a Lower East Sider grew up to be as wealthy as he was.
