"Don't you see? Without your ability, you're weak. The only way you beat Elise was by using your ability, that's your exact use in this organization. There's no point in trying to fix the unfixable, so just use your current advantages. You are much too weak to take on such training." Mori smiled to you, you didn't respond. Useless without your abilities? What does he know? You sat across of Mori from a large dining table, Elise sitting atop it, colouring, the table decorated in sweets. Mori stands up and walks over to you, him stopping by your chair, standing over you. You felt odd, you didn't like him.
You didn't like the fact he wanted and planned your murder.
Suddenly, Mori pulled out a scalpel, before you could react it stabbed right through your hand, pinning it into the table. You screamed, flinching, and breathing heavily as you grabbed the scalpel's handle and ripped it out of your hand. You looked over to Mori with a looked of betrayal in your eyes.
"What the hell was that fo-"
"Keep quiet, I was just testing something." Mori said, gently taking your hand, already disinfecting the wound. The pain stung and burn, like salt to a wound considering your days of harsh beatings from Elise before you could control your abilities. Your injured hand clenched into a fist, your eyes filled with confusion and distaste for the man before you.
"You keep your abilities deactivated?" Mori asked.
"Yeah, so?! Does that make you impaling my hand valid?!" You snap back, the moment Mori finishes bandaging your hand you pull it into your chest quickly despite the pain. Your rage dies down when Mori looks at you, every time you two did make eye contact, his eyes were always so fake, with a smirk plastered on his face. But this time, they weren't fake, and that's even worse than usual. Dull, lightless, psychopathy, and manipulation in a single glance.
"I already told you, you're useless without your abilities. You're already vulnerable with your Dark Light ability, anyone touching you would give them full control over their ability, that makes you a target. If you had your other ability Devils in Daylight constantly activated you wouldn't be injured right now." Mori demeaned, you stared at him for a moment, hurt by his words. They hurt because they made sense, you agreed.
I am useless without my abilities.
I am vulnerable without my abilities.
So I'll never be without them.

"Safety comes first~" Dazai smirked to you, you hated him. You hated how he made you feel vulnerable, you hated how you couldn't read him, you hated him. You wanted to get away.
"I have a feeling I'm safer sleeping on the street." You mumble, looking away with your eyebrows furrowed. Dazai chuckled, his intimidating demeanour slipping up every now and then made you feel like he was taunting you, rubbing it in your face that you couldn't hurt him, rubbing it in your face that he could hurt you.
"Hey now!~ Don't be so rash! Kunikida wouldn't let me see the light of day if I did anything to you, and my gentlemen demeanour wouldn't allow me to do such things!" Dazai said dramatically, putting a hand on his chest with a fake hurt expression plastered on his face. You cringe and look away, sighing in frustration of the situation Kunikida put you in. You wanted to scream, blame everyone else, but you knew doing that wouldn't do anything, so you just bottled up all your anger and sad on a couch with your arms crossed. Suddenly, a pair of hands were firmly placed on your shoulders from behind, a flash of blue light following, your abilities Dark Light and Devils in Daylight deactivating instantly.
"Get off me, you're heavy." You snap, picking up your arm to elbow Dazai away when he pushes it away and leans over you.
"Replacing your fear of me with anger isn't going to help you now that we're alone." Dazai said, his voice was husk and airy, his words sounded like scolding but his tone made it a threat. Out of all the 3 instincts, fight, flight, and freeze, you could only sit there in shock.
Why am I surprised? Didn't I expect this? Didn't I already know something like this would happen?
It's because knowing something, compared to actually living through it, are worlds apart.
"G...Get off, Dazai I..." The tone you imagined compared to how your voice whimpered out your words shocked you, you were the Port Mafia executive, Chuuya Nakahara's partner, a member of the re-made Twin Dark.
You were never scared until someone else became the threat.
"You're fumbling on your words, but don't worry, I'll keep mine." Dazai whispered, his voice quieter than before, you hated the feeling of his breath on your ear, running down your neck.
"I won't hurt you if you don't make me."
"And I won't like you if you don't respect me." You finally snap, standing up and rushing as far away from Dazai as possible, your back hitting the wall. You took a deep breath, your lungs shaking from the encounter. You slowly regulated your breath, Dazai standing in his place with a blank expression, you immediately activate your abilities. Although you can't use them on him, having them activated makes you feel less vulnerable.
You'd rather be the monster then the victim.
Dazai suddenly smiled genuinely, his eyes closing and head tilting.
"You take things so seriously! Hmm, do you drink?" Dazai asked, smiling over to you as he turns around and heads towards the kitchen in the connecting room.
"Why?" You reply, trying to gather your composure, you felt like Dazai left imprints into your shoulder, into your skin. You scratched lightly at the spot, it felt like he was still holding you. It felt weird.
I hate him.
