"The twin nations of Sellheria and Gyssia formed shortly after the fall of humanity. As nearby powers, they naturally developed an unnecessary rivalry over their isolated land, far from any other major continent. Yet this animosity only amounted to threats and espionage, akin to two people staring very angrily at each other. Still, it was only a matter of time..."

Just a normal day at school, Elliot told herself as she entered the door to Rosewater High School, the largest high school in the city of Varunis, the capital of Sellheria. Calmly approaching her locker, Elliot entered the combination and opened the door. Fuck. Elliot mentally kicked herself as the Staff of Dreams laid comfortably in her locker. Outwardly, she was as calm as ever, throwing her hoodie in and taking her binder out of her bag. Of course an all powerful staff teleports to the prodigy. "Hey Elliot!" Elliot panicked as she turned to face the voice, making sure her locker was closed. "Jeez, Aizy! Why do you always do that?!" Aizy shrugged, "Sorry, didn't realize how jumpy you were today." Elliot composed herself. "It's fine. I just have a really important assignment to present today, nerves and all that." Elliot glanced at the clock. "I just remembered I have to talk to Mr. Lasdown before school starts, so I have to leave." She was showing herself out when Aizy reminded her, "Aren't you forgetting something." Crap. "I don't recall leaving something behind." Elliot tried to hide her terror as he removed the unlocked lock from the door. "Your water bottle? You have P.E. first thing, right?" Oh thank god! "Oh, I'll be fine, I'll just pick it up after." Her response was met with a confused look from Aizy as he slowly opened her locker. "I mean, I could just grab it right now..." Elliot frantically raced in front of him and locked the door. "I'll grab it later," she said slowly, giving Aizy an oddly serious look. Taking it as a cue to stop, Aizy nodded, "Oh, okay then. See you later?" "See you later Aizy." As she walked away, Aizy shouted, "Tell Elina I'll pay her back tomorrow!"

"How was school today?" Elliot was greeted with chicken, potatoes and this glaring question from her mother. I have to tell her. "Nothing special." Elliot insides twisted as those simple words came out. "You always say that exact response every time." She won't tell anybody, she's your mother. "Actually, yesterday I sincerely remember responding with 'Nothing of note'." Her mother let out a soft chuckle as she set down her plate at the dining table. "I'm just worried about you. Listen, if anything is going on at school, tell us and we'll help you deal with it." Just tell her! She needs to know! "And I will, if and when it happens." Again, Elliot's gut winced as she continued eating her dinner. After finishing her food, Elliot checked her cell tome(yes, a phone but tome). "I gotta go to Elina's and pick something up. Be right back." As she exited her house, Elliot was met with an alert in her vision. "Technique learned: Subterfuge." Screw this staff and everything it stands for.
