••June 20th••
Stupid nerves.
That's all people feel on the day of exams. Especially the people that study last minute or don't even study at all.
Setsuna, Kuroo and Shinohara have been studying insanely hard in their free time. Fighting for the top spot.
Sakaya has skimmed through her notes on occasion, usually when she's not in a photo shoot or filming.
Kenma, Suguru and Kimi hasn't even bothered picking up their text books.
"Setsuna, don't disappoint us." Shirai tells her eldest daughter before she walks into the PTA office.
That's about the closest Setsuna ever gets to the traditional, "Good Luck." She only receives that type of talk from her parents on exam day.
Setsuna nods to herself, prepping for the day and walks to her room.
Sakaya was already in class, discussing different topics with Kuroo.
"Good morning." Setsuna mumbles, stepping into their environment and taking a seat.
The two other third years, merely glance at her.
Every since the pictures were revealed to the friend group, Setsuna felt even more left out than usual. Kenma stopped gaming with her as often. Sakaya barely spoke to her. And Kuroo joined Kenma and Sakaya for lunch.
As much as Setsuna is used to the feeling, it hurt her.
"Pipsqueak." Kuroo calls back at the zoned out third year.
"Y-Yes Kuroo-senpai?" she replies, not even bothering to correct his nickname for her. She seemed desperate to speak to him more.
"Quit staring daggers at me like that. I can feel your eye boring into my head." he tells her.
Her face becomes flushed and she couldn't find a voice or respond.
Kuroo turns around and puts his elbow on her desk. "Just kidding. But, do you remember when you said you owe me one?"
She thought back to that moment, when he gave her his notes while she was blind.
"Sadly, I do." she sighs.
"Great, let's turn that into a bet then." he quickly replies.
Sakaya overheard, also suspicious with how fast he was to say what he wants. Which also means, he's up to something.
"Okay?" Setsuna hesitantly continues.
"If I claim the top spot, you and this monkey have to dress as cheerleaders during one of our volleyball practices."
Kuroo glances at Sakaya, know she was listening.
"Oh I get it. He just wants to see Sakaya in a cheerleading outfit."
"MONKEY!?"
Sakaya stares at him in disgust, not liking the insulting nickname. Since she's never been called such a thing.
"Deal." Setsuna easily agrees. "Sakaya-san?"
