Recap:

That was before she felt an arm wrap itself around her waist, pinning her arms to her side. All her muscles tensed up as she felt someone's hot breath near her ear.

Continued:

"Hayden Kanashii," a deep voice whispered in her ear, "We've been looking everywhere for you." She couldn't move, she couldn't breathe. All she could do was stand there trying not to let the panic cloud her vision. The arm around her waist tightened, and she sucked in a deep breath before finally mustering up some courage to say something.

"What do you want?" She asked, her voice trembling slightly. The man behind her laughed, before answering.

"I already said. We've been looking for you everywhere," the man let out a sigh before continuing. "Why'd you have to go and fake your death? It just takes the fun out of everything." Of course he was referring to the car accident that happened a couple months ago. The one that took her parent's life. The one that almost took hers. He knew. He knew about everything. "That accident was so tragic wasn't it? I mean the entire Kanashii family dying in one fell swoop? It seemed too good to be true, especially knowing who caused the whole incident." Hayden's breath hitched. He was teasing her, she could hear it in his voice, except that last part seemed all too real. It wasn't an accident. Someone had caused her parents death. (no shit sherlock) She always knew it was a possibility and had considered it many times she just never in a million years thought her suspicions would be confirmed. That was the last straw for the auburn haired girl, because she quickly stomped on the man's foot as hard as she could, and elbowed him in the stomach. He released her from his arms, and she swiftly turned around, placing a decent kick to his groin. The man doubled over in pain, his knees dropping to the ground. Hayden knew she probably should have studied his face a bit, but instead turned on her heel running from the man behind her.

"You bitch!" He yelled after her, already starting to get up, as Hayden turned a corner, taking one last glance behind her. Unfortunately that glanced caused her to bump into someone. That bump conveniently caused her to fall on her ass in front of said someone. Hayden immediately stood up, bowing quickly and muttering a quick apology. She was about to make a run for it when a hand grabbed her wrist and stopped her. She turned her head in confusion and saw the man from earlier. The one she seems to be bumping into way too often. The one who was on fire. She slipped her hand from his grip, and that's when she noticed her dilemma. She had run right into the group of people from earlier who were on fire. They had her surrounded, but that was partially from the fact she had been trying to push her way through them. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she tried to contain her breathing. What did they want? She didn't have any more time for questions, because the man from earlier came barreling down the streets. Hayden's bright green eyes widened as she pushed her way out from the middle of the group. Starting to run again, dodging through people trying to lose the person chasing her. She spotted an alleyway in front of her and darted down it, thinking it would lead her somewhere and confuse her pursuer (a stupid idea really) She was wrong. Dead wrong. Know why? She had run straight into a dead end, accidentally trapping herself. As soon as she realized this she turned around only to stop when she saw the man blocking the entrance. He had a furious look on his face as he stared her down.

"It's over." No matter how hard he tried to hide it, his voice wavered slightly. He was tired, and probably still in pain from Hayden's kick. She glanced around her trying to find a way out when she spotted a fire escape on the side of one of the buildings. how convenient It's not over. Not if she had anything to say about it. Hayden made a beeline for the fire escape, grabbing onto the ladder and hoisting herself up. She started running up the escape, ignoring the shouts of the man behind her. It didn't matter. Not anymore. The escape stopped a little bit below the roof, so Hayden, being the idiot she was, jumped, grabbing onto the edge of the roof and hoisting herself up. She crawled onto the roof, letting her breathing slow a bit. Her little break didn't last very long before she saw the man's hands grip the ledge of the roof just like she had. Jesus he just never gives up does he. Her eyes roamed the space around her in a panic, searching for a way out of this. That's when she saw a building close to the one she was standing on. Basically in jumping distance. She got an idea. a very stupid idea She walked to the opposite edge of the roof, and then turned on her heel. She started running, seeing the man finally reach the top of the roof, before jumping off of it. She didn't have any time to think of the possibility that she might not make it, before her feet touched down and she was tripping forward. Her breathing erratic, as she heard someone shout "What the fuck?" from the alleyway she just jumped over. Did she just jump over someone? Well fuck. Hayden was relishing in her tiny little breather, before she heard the sound of someone landing harshly, right before her. She quickly got to her feet, and met the eyes of the man who had been chasing her.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Are you insane?" He yelled, taking a couple steps closer to her. She backed away instinctively.

"What the hell's wrong with you?" She retorted. "Why can't you just leave me alone?" The man scoffed, before taking another step closer to her.

"You have no idea what's going on, do you." He said.

Hayden didn't get a chance to answer him before she was running towards the side of the building, spotting yet another fire escape. She jumped down onto it, feeling a sharp pain shoot up her ankle. She ignored it though as she ran down the stairs. She heard the man right on her heels, as she urged herself to go faster. Jumping off the ending of the fire escape, she started running towards the opening of the alleyway. That was before she realized the man was somehow in front of her. When did he get there? Did he jump or something? She didn't have much time to ponder before she started running in the other direction. The man reached out to her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into him. Not wasting a second before pinning her arms to her side. She struggled against his grip, but in the tired state she was in, it was no use.

"You've caused me a lot of problems today," He growled at her.

"Suck it up, you piece of shit." Hayden's little comment had the man growling in anger, he seemed to like growling, before pushing her up against a wall of some building that was surrounding them. His hand closed tightly around her throat and started choking her.

"I've had it with you," the man growled in her ear, "Now you're going to stop fighting me, or things are going to get messy." Did that stop Hayden in the slightest? Not at all. Instead, she decided it was a good idea to start clawing at his hand that was wrapped around her throat. That pushed the man over the edge, and he threw Hayden away from him. Her back hit the ground painfully hard, and she let out a yelp. She laid on the ground, trying to catch her breath as the man stalked closer to her. Her entire body hurt, she was having trouble breathing, and she was panicking beyond belief. She shakily got to her feet, and readied her stance, preparing to have to fight this guy. Her chances weren't great, and she would probably lose, but there was no way in hell she would willingly go with him. The man was almost on her, and she could barely keep herself standing. This was not going to end well. Oh, she was so fucking screwed. That's when the man stopped in his tracks and seemed to be looking at something behind Hayden. The girl turned on her heels and her eyes widened.
