trying to keep yourself awake in class, you didnt notice matsukawa and hanamaki staring at you intensely. it had been a good few months since the last disagreement with oikawa, you had been able so find a group of friends to spend the time with instead of feeling guilty. you let out a slight yawn and turned to look at the clock when you noticed the boys staring at you, you flinched before they leaned closer to you,

"whats with you and oikawa? hmmmmm?" you averted their eyes before scoffing,

"theres nothing wrong. we were group partners, and now we arent. besides its been months since i last spoke to him. why are you asking now?"

they only leaned back into their seats before hanamaki spoke up, "i dunno y/n, you just seemed closer than just 'partners'" he put the last part in quotations as he leaned towards his desk to work on the paper in front of him. matsukawa squinted his eyes at you before turning back to his paper as well. 

when the bell rang you said your goodbyes to the boys before heading out to the hallway you turned in time to catch the eyes of the one person you had been avoiding, he picked up his pace in attempt to catch up to you. you quickly slipped into the restroom in hopes that he would let up.

you spent the day sneaking around the halls and trying to avoid the boy because for some reason he had decided that this was the day he was going to rekindle whatever friendship you had. you let out a deep breath as you closed your locker and made your way to the gates. your phone vibrated in your pocket as you saw kaede had tried calling you four times already,

"hey."

"y/NNNNN, dont tell me your still all mopey-"

"im not why did you-"

"please go to the karasuno volleyball game with me next week~~~"

"why would i do that. last time i went to a volleyball game i got yelled at for being a good friend."

"because i cant show up to an opposing schools game by myself."

"why do you even want to go to another schools game-"

"theres a cute guy on the team, well, multiple cute guys, and unlike you, i dont let my opportunities slip away."

"ah, well. your lucky im free."

"THANK YOUUUUU, ill text you the details 'kay?"

the energetic girl hung up first, you let out a small laugh before putting your phone away and starting the walk home again,

day of the game

getting up and getting dressed, you were somewhat excited for the game, you and kaede hadnt gotten a good chance to get together in a few weeks so the idea of hanging out with her made you happy,

pulling up to the building, you saw the girl standing around, looking for you. when she had spotted your car she immediately bounded over towards you. stepping out of the car you were only met with her arms wrapping around you. pulling back her smile was as bright as ever. she pulled you into the gym towards the seats she had already saved,
