looking at the boy in front of you as he pushed the bangs out of his eyes. he noticed you staring and looked up at you, "what is it? is something wrong?" his voice was slightly laced with concern but you just shook your head in response as the waitress set your drinks on the table. "no, but i do need your help with something-" he leaned forward and rested his head on his hands, "and what is it that requires my help~"
"kaede leaves in a few months, i made her a promise that i would find a hobby or, something im 'passionate' about before she leaves,"
a smirk became present on his face as he grabbed his drink off the table,
"ah~ well, i would say your passionate about me-,"
you scoffed and rolled your eyes,
"but-, i could teach you some volleyball, maybe you'd like that?"
"yeah but, its a little late to start in sports-"
he nodded and he sat back in his chair, slightly defeated at the fact that you didnt want to learn the sport that he had been chasing all his life
"you liked the project we did at the beginning of the year, where we analyzed that one book?"
you slowly nodded and sat back into your chair aswell,
"maybe try your hand at writing y/n-chan~ i will give you the honest feedback you so desire~"
"dont talk like that. you sound weird." he slightly chuckled before taking a sip from his drink,
'writing. huh.'

sitting in front of your laptop, you were trying not to pay attention to the boy behind you. he was braiding different strands of your hair while whining about who the hell knows what,
"come on~ please y/n~"
"i dont know how to play tooru, and i literally hate kids."
oikawa had spent the last 30 minutes trying to convince you to help help him the kids volleyball group he part time coached for, he gently combed the many braids out of your hair before he turned you towards him,
"i wont complain about your horrible cooking for a while."
"how long is a while?"
"for the rest of our relationship."
you only narrowed your eyes at the boy before sighing,
"okay. yeah, fine."
his eyes lit up as he pulled you up from the chair, springing you into a hug. "be there at 5 okay?" you nodded before pulling away and smiling back at him.

"wow. you suck at this y/n-chan."
the kids had all left at this point and you realized the real reason oikawa asked you to help out. he tricked you into playing volleyball.
you glanced up at the setters remark and wiped the sweat from your forehead before placing your hands on your knees again, "a beginner cant even fathom winning against someone like you." he laughed before picking up a ball and setting it in the basket nearby, "whatre you gonna do if i do go chasing volleyball and i end up leaving here?" you looked up as he quickly averted his eyes away from you,
"then, ill be happy."
he snapped his head back towards you before opening his mouth to say something, before he had a chance to, you continued
"ill be happy because that means you are doing what you love. i dont want you to stay here if that means holding you back. if you want to go half way across the world, fuck it, go half way across the world tooru. ill still be here."
he only nodded in response before walking over with his bag,
"we should go home. its late, and you have a math test tomorrow~!"
"shit. i dO?"
"mhm. seriously, why own a planner if you arent gonna use it y/n-chan!"
