(Xyra's P.O.V)
I walk through the double doors and see the halls flooded with students. I wasn't used to seeing so many teenagers in one place. My previous school was tiny so this was new to me. I go to the office and bump into someone on the way in. "Sorry" he murmurs and keeps walking. I didn't manage to catch a glimpse before he ran off
. I shrug it off and walk in. "Hey sweetie, what can I help you with?" I'm greeted by an old lady and I flash a smile. "Hi, I'm Xyra Mendes, I'm new here." The lady beams and starts typing away. "Xyra we've been waiting for you! I must say you look very different from your school picture" I groan and throw myself in my hand. From last year to this year, I had changed drastically. From big glasses and hair hard to tame to contacts to makeup. It's not my fault I was blind.
She laughs and hands me my schedule, "Here are your classes I will send you along with Jared" at the mention of his name, a tall blonde walks out. "You called Mrs.Rios?" "Jared, honey, meet Xyra! Treat her well and show her around. Now out, you've been eating all my snacks again" Jared laughs, "Sorry, mommy forgot to feed me today"
He turns around to me and smirks, "Well hi there Xy bae" I roll my eyes and extend my hands towards him "Hi Jared" he shakes it and drags me out. "Let me see your classes" I hand him the paper and he smiles. "Sweet, we have Calc, Lunch, and free period together" I look over "Guess you're my new friend" he groans, "Aw I already got friend zoned" I smack him and laugh, "Shouldn't have gotten your hopes up"
He drops me off at my class, "Here's Chem. Have fun Xy bae" I wave off and walk in. The class turns around and stares, and I wave and smile. "Hi, I'm Xyra." I hear a couple hi's and I look at the teacher. "Hi Xyra, sit wherever you'd like, and don't worry much, we are about to take a test so just relax" I nod and sit behind a redhead girl. She looks at me and looks away. I look around wondering who I will befriend this year.
