Always, I'll Care

Afterstory

Mingi did his best to take care of Y/N and their child. He was true to his word, he said he'd get better for them and himself. He managed to convince Y/N to come back to Seoul and move in with him. Mingi's day became brighter and happier. Of course, the other s are happy too. They cried the day Y/N came back. San and Wooyoung straight up wailed when they saw her. Hongjoong and Seonghwa rambled on and on about she should've confided in them. Jongho and Yeosang are the ones to tried to calm down the others. Y/N then looked at Yunho, smiling sheepishly. "I'm sorry, Yunho." She said softly, "Yeah, it's kinda hard holding on the short end of the stick but you and Mingi had made up, right? Assuming on the smile on your faces and you coming back, everything went well." He said, looking at them both. "Yes." Mingi declared, "She's here, she'll stay with me. I'll take care of her." Yunho smiled and pat Mingi's shoulder. Y/N hugged Yunho and they exchanged smiles.

After that, everything went well. All of them declared that they would be the "best uncles in the world", they even made a contest out of it. One time, Mingi came home with Yeosang massaging Y/N's shoulders while Seonghwa and Yunho argued about what is healthier: the apple or the orange. Both of which, Y/N declined. Hongjoong also just came back from the store, getting Y/N weird food cravings and eating them whilst they watch San and Wooyoung boast which one brought more presents. Mingi sighed and decided (or demanded) that they should tone down the since the title of the best uncle isn't a contest. But the others didn't mind, they would spoil their soon-to-be-born niece or nephew and without a doubt, won't heed Mingi's demands. "I don't mind." Y/N said after the chaos died down. "But Y/N..." Mingi sighed, "I like the attention, besides it's fun watching them argue which color suits me, yellow or blue." She giggled.

Months passed and the baby is born. Everyone was overjoyed, they celebrated a week after Y/N got out of the hospital. Y/N gave birth to a healthy baby boy and they were completely ecstatic to meet him. The moment they met him, they immediately cooed at him except Yeosang. Y/N took notice and grabbed everyone's attention, gesturing at him, "What's the matter Yeo?" Hongjoong asked. All of them looked at Yeosang and saw tears in his eyes. "Are you crying, Yeo?!" Wooyoung shouted, laughing. "I'm not! It's just dust!" he retorted. All of them laughed at Yeo, teasing him. Mingi couldn't blame him though, he cried too when he saw his son bundled up in Y/N's arms.

Time skip to 1 year later, their son is growing steadily and healthy thanks to Mingi and Y/N, and don't forget his uncles too. Yunho was especially close, immediately getting into the role as the doting and critical uncle.

Mingi was very nervous that day, it was his son's first birthday. It was already special, and he didn't want to interrupt it. He and Y/N were already together, they live in the same house and they have a son. He knew he didn't have to worry about anything but the ring in his pocket felt heavier and his hands shake. What if she isn't ready? He thought, but he decided to not think about it and just go. So he did, when the time came to give his speech and express thanks to the people around him and his son, he knelt to one knee and get the little velvet box from his pocket. "We've been together through thick and thin. You made my life brighter and made me a better person. You believed in me when you saw my darkest sides and gave me a beautiful son. I know that I should've done this earlier but...Y/N, will you marry me?"

Mingi stood at the altar, waiting for Y/N. His heart beating fast as he tried to exhale. They can't decide which one would be the best man so they decided that they all should be, it was only fitting after all. "You guys really are the best, so why wouldn't we?" Mingi said smiling brightly as Y/n nodded. All of them shouted in joy and pulled Mingi in a group hug.

The wedding march started to play and Mingi flinched as he looked expectedly at the start. His almost 2-year-old son was made a ring-bearer and was carried by his grandmother. He cooed at his son before he was carried away to sit at the front row. His breath hitched he saw Y?N walk down the aisle. She smiled at him as he held her hands in front, "You look so beautiful." He lovingly whispered. The wedding ended without a hitch and it was time for the photos, from the best boys lined up and smiled at the camera, formally at first. Hongjoong and Yunho at Y/N's side and Yeosang at Mingi's side. The maknaes crouched down in front of them. For the second shot, they all made funny faces and laughed at each other. They stepped down and Yunho decided it was the best time to play the piano.
