CHAPTER EIGHT

The narrow lifeless shadows of the underground became vibrant when I lit a spark of light in it. The cameras were on my side while I was beyond the den for traitors. I could feel my hands were ready to smash down liars.

"I have a few questions and you must be honest," I said. My voice thundered on the other side where Student 9 was anchored on the floor and water started to gush inside the large aquarium. "Or else, you'll gonna drown to death." I smirked investigating his trembling lips and shaking knees. He looked so horrible, a face that I found exciting to  play with.

"You'll pay for this! You—"

The water flew ruggedly inside his room. It filled up to his knees and I won't hesitate to flood it more.

"I wanna know who's group led the backlash." I shrugged my shoulders when his fierce eyes darted at me. It pierce through the glass walls separating both of us.

"I prefer to die than to—"

He shouted when the water sprinkled on him while was trying to suppress my grins. He wanted to die and I was the kindest creature who could shower those privileges. Though, I could easily trace the group and rained fire for their sins but I also wanted to create a generation of faithful servants— Gromes who would offer their loyalties and not to suffice their fears. I've snatched and could easily do it over and over— planting fright in their hearts to win wars but I generated no loyal but traitors servants.

I felt bad for it. I, who gave this country a freedom from corruption and fraudulence, they gave me back the opposite.

The water level reached his waist. He was still unchanging. My desires to know the people behind the backlash grew, I admired how they cultivated such fidelity.

"Then die faithful." I held the lever down that made the water flew freely and rapidly in the room. His eyes widened when it almost reached his chest.

"You won't win, Greatel. The International Security Agency (ISA) will aid us to free this country from you!" I was left staring straight at him. This kid was too innocent and dumb. I was holding my laughter when I heard the lame agency that governed the peace in the cities and any nation affiliated with Dome. They couldn't harm nor touch any of my possessions. I could still remember the treaty that held me in this position and turned their deliverance to ashes.

"Ms. Murphil." One of the wrinkled man on the other side of the table called my attention. I've been seeing them in enticement on the diamond halls and the expensive marbles of the palace of Wilson. After a lot of minutes for their entertainment, they were found seated and were ready to serve pleasure just for me.

He gulped before he continued. "The International Security Agency wanted—"

"I am not buying your jokes and offers." The documents I've sent was clear. It stated that Wilson, the late President who had fallen by a rare cancer transfered the huge properties of Watsons and Dome under my name.

"You are threatening the state through your possessions. You provided violence in the government and used the weaknesses of the people for your purposes, thus making you a terrorist."

The slamming sound from my mug and the utensils took their back. "Then you shall fear a terrorist like me," I snarled.

"We have the authority to arrest you if you'll not surrender this state to us." He served a file of documents infront of me. "All you have to do is—"

"I am not dumb enough to sign your treaty." The documents suddenly lighted infront of them. The vibrant colors of crimson swallowed their boldness and I could feel my nerves and the prowess in it. The paper formed into a ball of fire as it rolled into my hands. I found it enticing to play blazes while feeding their fright.

"I can burn you and your agency alive. Tell your colleagues that I am not a myth and you are not allowed to break into my premises, telling me what should I do with my country. Starting this day, you shall leave me alone and Dome in my governance."  I blew the fire in their faces that rained powdered ashes. "That is our treaty." Another fire ball was about to formed in my palms. They quickly stood with templates of sweats and bowed their heads before they vanished in my sight.

That was the last time, I remembered the ISA approached me. The state was under my power and there's no group that could take it away from me.

"You're hopeless," I remarked. Student 9 was near to exhaustion. The water level already reached his neck and his inconsistent breath echoed on the four walled room. I remained still on my feet, unmoving the lever as his skin had fainted.

If I was dwelling on the younger me, the reckless and emotional— I must felt mercy. The long race of certain uncertainties turned my heart into stone. There was no compassion left.

"I-I don't know!" I lifted the lever when he tried to surrender. He was panting above the frigid liquid.

"I-I honestly don't know where are them b-but I k-know their plans." My brows furrowed while patiently listening on the spilled beans.

"T-They wanted to t-trap your l-loyal colleagues through a m-masquerade party." The water slowly drained, leaving the level on his waist.

How dare them organized a party without my knowledge. After everything— I wasn't good at them anyway. Yet, the will to trap the Gromes who had gone through a lot of violence don't deserve another torture. Peace should rest in my hands.

"A trap disguised as party huh. When?"

"T-Tomorrow. They are taking advantage with M-Mr. Morse birthday."

I pressed the button that elevated the den from the underground. It travelled into the different floors before it reached the surface. I blew another button that sunk our ship into the sea of clouds. It travelled in the atmosphere while I was left with a lot of choices.

I drove down to the harbor of the city, the gates of his aquarium opened and the water gushed outside. He must be lucky that he changed his fate before death came.

"May you have learned your lesson." His eyes were afflicting while he ran away from me. A smirk was plastered into my face. I have thought of a wonderful plan for them.

They should mark their calendars for tomorrow, will be the day that their blood would stained the University, again.

"You are determined for that simple party. If I know you are just interested with them." Khin poured a wine into my glass and leaned his back again.

"They should pay for it," I replied immunizing myself with the grape taste.

"What if it's them." I halted from taking a sip after hearing him. If this was one of his theories, he must be wrong.

"Come to think of it, the codes and the backlash came together. It was like a threat." I was left speechless because he had a point. I have been grieving all these years for them and another disaster won't help. I shook my head withdrawing the thoughts off. We've been through the corners of the city, I have familiarized the narrow roads and I found no signs of them. I have given up on this but it kept on lurking— sending regards that they survived.

"That's impossible." I was trying to deny it.

"But what if..." I looked at him who was chilling in his favorite shirt and shorts. "... let's put it on the way I think." His lips curved while I am aware of the frown on my face.

"Will you fight against Dark Domes?"
