The rain has finally calmed down when Jungkook and Taehyung step out of the house and into the fresh air that finally gives Jungkook the reason to take a very deep breath. Taehyung seems to be in a hurry as he starts to walk towards the hidden car and Jungkook follows right after of course.
About ten minutes after driving, a loud sound of sirens takes over the air and about five police cars pass them all in line. Jungkook watches as Taehyung looks at the cars with a satisfied expression and that tells Jungkook where the cars are headed to.
A warm feeling takes over Jungkook's heart. The miserable looking traumatized kids will finally get saved and hopefully returned to their missing families. Jungkook can't deny the fact that saving people feels good, this being the first time for him to be part of saving someone's life.
It's not like Jungkook's a heartleass person. He does little things like helping Yoonie get his mom's attention in the storm everytime he gets a chance, but this mission was something totally different. It had to be fate that the same small boy was there, as if waiting to be saved by Jungkook again.
Jungkook lets out a shaky breath before he hears a phone start ringing somewhere. His eyes widen when he realises the buzzing in his soaking wet backpack that's laying on the car's floor and reaches for it in embarrassment.
Jungkook feels suffocated when the phone is finally in his hand and the caller ID is clearly shown on the screen. Namjoon.
"Just take it already for god's sake!", an annoyed Taehyung shouts from the driver's seat as Jungkook is still battling in his head. Should he answer or not? Well, if he doesn't answer the phone now, Namjoon will surely contact his mother and that wouldn't end prettily.
But for some reason, the fact that Taehyung is going to hear their conversation doesn't sit right with Jungkook. He doesn't want him to hear his conversation with his beloved cousin. Before he can change his mind and get himself in trouble, Jungkook answers the call and presses the phone against his right ear nervously.
"Hello?", he asks quietly and notices Taehyung roll his eyes.
"I can still hear you, you know?", the prosecutor asks in annoyance at the younger's dumpness and Jungkook feels his cheeks get a bit pink. Why does he have to be such an idiot?
"Hello, Jungkook? Who was that?", Namjoon's suspicious voice asks and Jungkook suddenly has the urge to face palm. "No one hyung. Why did you call?", Jungkook asks, really wanting to know what the older had to say. It totally wouldn't be about 'how was your day?' or 'I miss you already', not that Jungkook would want it to.
