It had already been a boring week.
She spent all of her time recently doing sewing commissions for other people. Staying up late every night slaving away skillfully with her needle. After all of that work, it was time for a break. Her lover, Masamune, made her aware of this before they planned the perfect evening so they could each spend more time together. So when the young woman looked outside and watched as rain hit the ground like fallen bullets, her mood spiraled downwards. She just wanted today to be good after the other long stressful ones. But her date was ruined.
A small sigh escapes her lips as she plops down in her work chair. There is nothing else to do with the weather, she knew if she didn't take advantage of the situation now she'd be kicking herself for it later. So she began to draw out a new kimono design quietly.
Masamune scowls as soon as he enters the room to see her working- Immediately towering her figure from behind. "Kitten," She can hear the confusion laced in his voice, "I thought we agreed this was our day off." He himself had also been busy with training his men for a future mission under the hot sun all day. Training at the warmest time of the year is physically taxing. They both needed this day to be good.
"But it's raining outside, everything we planned is ruined. We should just reschedule." She stands up, walking around him and grabbing some purple silky fabric and bringing it to her desk. Masamune gently takes her arm, and it breaks his heart when she pulls away. "Masamune.."
Suddenly, a plan forms in the back of his head. An evil, but genius plan. She watches as he leaves the room, hoping she didn't hurt his feelings too bad with her actions- and becomes confused when he comes in with a basket only minutes later.
Masamune's next action is too quick for her to stop him. Swiftly, he grabs the fabric right out of her hands, throwing it in the basket and taking off. Naturally, her first instinct was to get it back, so she chases after him, calling his name loudly. As they race down the Castle of Azuchi's halls, those they pass can't help but stop what they're doing to stare. He laughs confidently that his plan worked as she follows from not far behind yelling his name. As his girlfriend begins to come closer, he thinks of yet another thing to add to his original plan to make it even better. Opening the front gate, he sprints outside with the basket still in hand.
She freezes at the entrance, watching him go out in the rain. She was no longer angry at his sudden need for attention, instead, she began laughing before going outside with him. The cold water soaks her bare feet and the bottom of her kimono as she runs freely.
Masamune laughs wholeheartedly, sprinting straight ahead. She stays not far behind, which surprises him. This continues until they both meet an open field, and the cry of his kitten is followed by the sound of something hitting the ground. He turns around just in time to see her feet fly over her head as she slips in the mud. Dropping the basket, he immediately is at her side, scanning her for any sign of pain. At least until he saw her expression.
She was smiling. A smile that he longed to see from her for the past week, her happiness radiating from it. Raising her hand, she gestures him to help her stand- At least, that's what he thought she was doing. But with different plans in mind, she pulls him down with a sudden yank of the arm to join her. His eyes widen in shock as he had no time to react as he lays beside her. Soon both of them were laughing, every worry forgotten, along with the fabric.
She turns her head, looking him up and down before pressing her lips to his cheek. "Thank you, Masamune. I needed that." Warm arms wrap around her torso gently, bringing her close.
"Anything for you, Kitten."
