She shot one career in the foot and another in the heart. The rest start to run but I quickly catch up and tackle them. I punch their faces until they are red and swollen. I finish them up by stomping on their faces. Katniss jumps down from the tree and picks each of them up. She snaps their neck in a way that kills them. Dead. I start to cry. "What's wrong pri... I mean Rue?" She asks hugging me. "I KILLED THEM. I BEAT THEM UP SO BAD. YOU KILLED THEM." I say crying. We walk back to base and I start to calm down. We eat rabbit for dinner and each take a few sips of water. Katniss said that she will keep watch while I sleep. I doze off but am awaken a few minutes later by sound of screaming. Katniss is gone. I get up quickly and call her name. I get screaming in response. I start to panic and run in the direction of the screams. I find Katniss over Peeta's dead, bloody, body. He has multiple stab wounds and is quietly whispering to Katniss. I hear "I love you Katniss. My time is up. Goodbye." And then he is gone. His eyes close and Katniss sets him down on the ground. She quietly got up and pick flowers. She layed them around him and put flowers in his hand. She got up and walked over to me with her head down. "Let's go." She mumbled. I followed her back to camp and she grabbed her knife and bow and arrows and left. "Don't follow me Rue." She said. Once she was out of sight, I climbed a tree and looked for her. Once I spotted her, I followed her through the trees. She headed directly for the careers. Uh oh I thought. "You killed Peeta?!" She yelled pushing Cato against a tree. "Hell yea I did" he yelled back. She sliced his throat and that was the end of it. Cato was dead. All the careers were dead. Everyone that's left is: Katniss and I, Thresh, Foxface, and a boy from district 5. We start walking and another cannon goes off. We continue to walk and find Foxface lying dead against the tree. Katniss leans down and grabs the berries from her hand. "Nightlock." She mutters. She puts it in her bag and continues walking. I jump down from the tree just as she is reaching the camp. "We are going to the cornucopia. Pack everything up." She says. "You killed him didn't you?" I ask. "This is the Hunger Games. Not everybody lives." She says.
