Her legs carried her as fast as they could as she tried to find her father. They had been grocery shopping together before his work called him away. Y/n knew she should have gone home and waited for him there but her dad's condition only seemed to get worse and she worried one day he wouldn't be able to throw the last needed punch to beat the villain.
It was this fear that inspired her to become a doctor. Despite her young age she was constantly studying to be the best doctor and even take care of her father when he couldn't take care of himself.
She had watched him follow the sludge monster underground, she watched when he caught yhe monster for a second time but now she lost him to the crowd. The sun was going to set soon and she knew if she didn't go home before sundown he would be disappointed. He was talking to a fan early, wasn't he? She turned a corner when she saw the fan mentioned earlier.
"Excuse me!" She caled out as she rushed towards him. He turned in surprise, she could just make out the tear stains on his face.
"I'm terribly sorry, did a tall, skinny man walk past here? He has blond hair-"
"Ummmmmmm...Y-yeah! He went that way," he stuttered out as he pointed his finger in the direction he meant. Y/n fished out a handkerchief from her pocket and handed it to the boy.
"Here and thank you!" She called out as she raced down the street.
"Daddy!" She called out when she caught a glimpse of the tall, blond man she was looking for. He turned to look at his daughter with a smile as he stopped to allow her to catch up to him.
"I thought you would have gone home by now," he said with a light chuckle. "I got worried about you," she said as the two of them walked down the street together.
"Have some faith in your old man! I'm not just a skeleton," he teased himself. "I know but..." she paused for a moment, "You hand a really sad look earlier and I just wanted to make sure you were okay..."
He didn't say anything in response. What could he say? She wasn't allowed to worry about her father who despite having a destroyed respiratory system still gave it his all?
"I also got so pork buns while i was looking for you," she said as she fished out a paper bag from her shopping bags. He smile at her and pat her head in approval.
"What did I ever do to deserve such an amazing daughter?"
