12. Europe or New York?

Maya's POV
We were still in the restaurant and I don't think we'll be leaving anytime soon, I think it's time that I tell them. No more holding back. " I need to say something," I tell everyone at the table. Now all of their attention is on me and I open my mouth to speak but a waitress interrupted that by giving us our desserts after that Riley to chat up again. I am never going to get a chance to tell them this. I've been trying for the past few months now and Graduation is a week from now and I don't even know if I can bring the news. We finish our desserts and pay for our food and we all head out we still have time to go out, but I think Nathalie's done with being overshadowed because when she said: "I think Matt and I will go to the park, I'll see you at home Josh, Maya!" As she waves at us goodbye walking towards the park. She left without saying goodbye to Riley and I know why. I sigh and look at Josh, "Something bothering Nat." I say "Yeah I know, but I hope Matt can find out." He says and we hop into his car and drive to our destination the club where Riley and I are allowed in.
Nathalie's POV
Matt and I were walking our way to the Park where our favorite Cafe is in. "hey, how are you?" Matt asked I sigh "It's just Riley's attitude changed towards me every time I go against her plans like when I applied for Harvard, I'm not even sure I got in!" I vent out we stopped walking and he pulls me in for a hug and I smile and look up in his eyes "I am very proud of you for sending out that application, you are very talented and smart. Don't let anyone stop you from growing. Not even me or you're family you own yourself. You are your own person. And besides, I will support you every step of the way." He says I stare at him mesmerized with his words and his love for me. he holds my face and says "I love you! And I am so proud of you!" He says "I love you too" I reply and kiss each other we pull apart and let go of each other and walked to the park hand in hand.
Maya's POV
We were at the club and I wasn't drinking because I was going to drive for tonight. We were all sat down in this private booth and then the idea popped in my mind again. "Hey, I need to talk to you guys." I say and once again everyone's attention was on me "I sent out an application for an art school in Europe and I'm qualified for a scholarship!" I tell everyone. The table remains silent Josh was the first to speak "Wow Maya! That's Great! I'm so proud of you!!" He exclaims as he hugs me I hug back and kiss his lips and mumble a thank you, we sat down and waited for Riley's reaction. I know it was wrong of me to apply for a different school without telling Riley but this is a big opportunity for me. Out of a sudden Riley stands up and drags Lucas out of the club. I sigh knowing she's mad at me we both stood up and ran after Riley and Lucas. "RILEY STOP!" I yell after her "WHY!? YOU'RE JUST GOING TO LEAVE ME!" She exclaims as she stops running and I catch up to her "Maya, choose wisely NYU or Europe? Me or Art?" She says I stand there in shock from her words "YOU CAN'T MAKE ME CHOOSE RILEY!" I yell "FINE THEN LEAVE!" She exclaims and leaves I broke down into sobs right there in the sidewalk Josh steps into my side and says "Wait for her to warm up to it ok? She's not used to change." He says "Don't you think I know that!" I exclaim sobbing he holds me and leads me to the car. We drive to the apartment. " I think I will be best if you stayed at my apartment with me," Josh says as the rain starts to pour. Then Josh's phone starts to ring. "Hey Cory," he says "She's home?" He asked "well that's good right? Sorry about letting her walk home." He says and hangs up "Is she home?" I ask referring to Riley he nods and drives to the apartment building once we arrive at the building we rushed to his apartment and got ready for bed. As I finished getting ready I sat down on his bed and I started to rethink my decisions. I lay down and I feel Josh wrap his arms around me and said "hey, it will be alright." he says as he pats my head
I drift off to sleep and let my worries wash away. I told you it was going to be a long night.
