The next day, Osoro was looking all over for Enji. He wasn't near the incinerator when she first arrived, and he wasn't in the art club either. She asked everyone she came across, and whenever they said that they haven't seen him, she got a bit more upset. And it showed.
It was now 8:20am. School was going to start soon and Osoro wasted her entire morning trying to find someone she wasn't even sure she wanted to see. She sat down on one of the benches near the school entrance and tried to calm herself. If someone pissed her off now, she'd end up doing something that would get her in trouble... She closed her eyes and tried to relax for a while.
As she sat there, thoughts began to race through her head. Enji never showed up to school late... at least, as far as she was aware of. It wasn't like him... Maybe he was just running late, right? Surely, nothing bad would happen to him... right? But what if something did happen to him? What if he was hurt? What if he was jumped or attacked by someone? What if he was dead-
Osoro punched the wall next to her. "Why am I thinking about that now...?" She asked herself. "I'm sure... he's fine. He has to be..." She tried convincing herself that Enji was fine. It worked for a while, but after a few minutes, she started thinking about the worst-case scenarios again. She rubbed her head and looked down at the ground. "Enji's fine, right...? He... has to be." She was lost in her thoughts until she heard a familiar voice.
"Osoro? What are you doing out here?" Enji asked. He sounded worried since she wasn't with her usual group.
Osoro looked up and saw him looking down at her. She quickly stood up and glared at him. "There you are! I've been looking all over for you!"
Enji's eyes widened slightly. "You have?"
Osoro nodded. "I spent the entire damn morning trying to find you, but everybody said that they haven't seen you around. Where they hell were you?!"
"I was getting my hair ready. It took a lot longer than usual since I went to bed without brushing it properly... so I ended up heading out a bit later than when I normally do." Osoro rolled her eyes. Of course... She should've known that he'd end up getting held back by his damn hair... "Though..." He laughed and winked. "If I knew you were so worried for me, I would've tried to finish earlier!"
Her eyes widened and she scoffed. "Don't flatter yourself! I wasn't worried at all!" She was really worried. Hell, a part of her wanted to curse him out for making her worry so much, but she decided against it. Knowing him, he'd just use it to tease her more.
"Well, then, why exactly did you seem so worried about me just now?" Osoro stayed quiet. "You practically jumped right out of the bench when you heard me."
Osoro crossed her arms and looked away. "I only did that because I wasted my entire damn morning..."
Enji chuckled. "Sure, sure..." Osoro groaned. He clearly didn't believe her... "Ah, I suppose that I shouldn't harp on that now. Class is about to start in about three minutes. Could you tell me why you were looking for me?"
"I... wanted to talk to you about something."
"Ah, I see! You were looking for me yesterday as well, right?" Osoro nodded. "I'm sorry I wasn't available back then, but... I'm available now! What do you need?"
"... The painting you showed me. It's been on my mind."
"It has? That's good to hear, even if you didn't like it all that much."
"What does that mean?"
"Well, you said it was alright."
"Oh. Right..."
