❥Chapter 35

"Are you being serious?" Your classmate asks, disbelief in their face as they looked at you.

You slowly got up, looking at them right in the eye, "yes I'm being serious, two of my friends are out there and I don't know what could have happened to them, I wanna make sure they're safe so please." You begged, you begged for this classmate of yours to let you out.

"Eden, just let (Y/n) out, they want to leave so badly just let them, don't make this more difficult for us or that killer is gonna find us!" One of the students in the back exclaims loudly, protesting to let you out.

The student in front of you - Eden - seemed to hesitate, they looked away from you mentally debating to keep you in here or not for the sake of your safety, they sigh and then proceed to look back at you, "I'm going with you."

After Eden was going back and forth with their classmates, they came to an agreement for Eden to go out with you to find Annie and your other friend, they were protesting for Eden to stay but as for you they could care less if you wanted to leave.

The walk towards her dorm was quiet, silent, not really much to talk about.

"I remember Annie talking about you." Eden speaks up softly, you turn to them, their face looking forward and serious as they spoke, "she saw you as this very, straightforward and nice person, until you paired yourself with Tom and Aiden."

You furrowed your brow, confused as to why your reputation and appearance changed the moment you were with those two, "I'm guessing you don't like me." You respond in return, looking away from Eden as you looked down at the floor.

"It wasn't that, it simply put a sour taste in my mouth seeing you with Tom... and that day you tried to confront Annie."

The moment Eden mentioned that day with Annie, you quickly remembered that the person behind her was Eden this whole time. "Oh... so you were with her that day, I just remembered." You awkwardly look away, "I'm sorry for giving you a bad impression."

"Don't worry about it, really, the moment you walked up to her was the exact moment she was clearing up things with me about you, and... then you appeared with this very angry look on your face." Eden's voice quivered as if wanting to laugh, you quickly turn to them confused only to take a look at their face holding back a smile as they looked down, their black curls falling on their face.

There was this... energy around Eden, something that made you feel light, even in these circumstances where you were walking in the open halls, where this killer might appear at any moment, and yet... they somehow made this walk so casual and calm, it was scary.

The moment you wanted to speak up, a chilling scream could be heard echoing on the second floor, Eden grabs you by the wrist when you were about to take a step on the stairs of the school, you turn to Eden who looked up at horrified, confused you turn to the source as to what they were looking at.

Your heart stopped when your eyes landed on the familiar figure that was standing at the top of the stairs.

Helen.

He was holding a girl by her hair, dragging her all the way where he's standing now.

Helen looked down at you, whatever he was feeling then fueled his anger ten times when he saw Eden grabbing your wrist, the hand that was grabbing the girl's hair tightened, making the girl scream in pain, begging for him to let her go, only to be responded with silence.

He was drenched in blood, his mask, his blue jacket, everything was covered in blood.

"(Y/n)... we need to go." Eden pulled you back slightly, trying to make a run for it.

You couldn't tell his emotions due to his mask but you could sense Helen's eyes being focused on the hand that was grabbing you. He quickly lets go of the girl, in a harsh manner where her head hits the edge of the stair, whimpering in pain was all she could do as she weakly tried to stand up.

Helen then proceeds to kick the girl in the stomach, pushing her off the stairs forcefully, her body tumbling down in full speed.

Eden pushes you to the side quickly as the girl falls down the stairs, falling on the floor her neck snapping as soon as she made contact with the floor.

Helen slowly takes a step down the stairs, taking out his knife cleaning it off with his gloved hand, Eden only breathed heavily at the sight of the girl that was pushed down the stairs and then looked at Helen, pure fear in their eyes.

"Helen... why are you doing this?" You ask under your breath, pure shock in your body, processing whatever just happened, Eden quickly grabs your hand once again, pulling you with them.

"(Y/n), let's go!" Eden shouts, trying to pull you away, this was probably the second mistake they make, Helen skips one step as he jumps down the stairs, landing on the floor as he lunges himself towards Eden ready to strike with his knife, Eden lets go of you again, trying to dodge Helen's knife.

As you backed away you trip and fall on the girl's body, you quickly back away, struggling to get away from the girl's body in horror.

Helen strikes one more time, slashing Eden's arm in success, making Eden scream.

"Helen, you need to stop, please!" You shouted, getting up and running towards him, pulling him by the coat harshly, this made his body crash onto you, making him fall on top of you. His weight knocked the air out of your lungs, you wheezed in pain not being able to hold him back much.

Eden took this opportunity to fight him off, pulling him off of you as they try to take the knife away from Helen's hold, "(Y/n), you need to find Annie, I'll hold him back! Call the police once you find her!"

You quickly run away, making your way upstairs to find Annie's dorm.
