The Little Mermaid

Once upon a time there was a mermaid who lived under the sea (obviously). She was a princess. But unlike others who only cared about riches she cared about nature and worked very hard to keep the sea bed clean. She held awareness programs and every morning she would try to clean the sea bed. Although she tried very hard the sea bed always had garbage the next morning. This frustrated her because she did not know who was doing this. The garbage killed many sea creatures and it made the sea reek.

On her 18th birthday she was allowed to go to the surface of the sea. So that night she slowly swam upwards. When she surfaced she could see the vast black sky filled with stars. The moon shined gently, making the sea glow ghostly white. As she was looking around she saw a ship so she swam towards it. She could hear men shouting aboard. A few minutes later a dashing young man stepped up onto the deck. The princess thought he was absolutely gorgeous. He looked through a telescope and shouted, "Dump the garbage men". The men answered, Yes Prince!" Suddenly barrels and barrels of garbage dropped down to the sea. The little mermaid swam trying to avoid the garbage. As she swam down she saw many animals getting tangled up. She was furious. This man was killing her friends so she vowed to do something.

After helping the animals, she swam back to the castle and told her father about the situation. The king listened and then replied with a nonchalant, "Humans will be humans". The princess was not only furious with the prince she was mad at her father as well. She worked hard every day to take care of nature and the king of the sea want even caring. Her father wasn't caring. Filled with rage but still armed with a good plan the princess went to visit the one person she was told to stay away from: the sea witch.

She knocked on her cave door and the sea witched opened the door. She was dressed in a pink cute outfit and was holding a teddy bear. The princess swam a fin back. "What? you want a drug to help you get legs so you can make a prince fall in love with you?", she asked groggily. The princess burst into laughter and after wheezing and looking like an utter idiot she finally managed to tell what happened. The sea witch agreed to help immediately because her garden was getting polluted with garbage as well. Together they devised a plan. The sea witch gave the princess three vials and magic dust. after exchanging smirks, the princess swam towards shore.

She reached shore just before dawn broke. After looking around for any presence and finding none, she downed the 1st vial. Soon her tale split into two and she had two legs. She was also dressed in a long dress.

The princess painfully got up and started walking towards the castle. She was ready to get hired as a maid. With a little bit of luck and magic dust, the princess got a position as a maid in the prince's wing.

The princess worked hard and soon was trusted enough to work in close range with the prince. She went through his documents but there was none that she could threaten him with. But she did find his weakness: anything related to monsters and horror. So she downed the 2nd vial. With this she would seem creepy to only the prince. Whenever she saw the prince she would stare hard at him.

The prince was scared of the new maid. Sometimes he would see her head change shape and size. Sometimes fangs would appear. Her eyes seemed to follow him wherever he went. And he could hear her voice whisper, "Stop dumping garbage". When he questioned his butler he seemed confused because she apparently was one of the most well-loved maids. So the prince thought that it was his mind playing tricks. After all, no one knew about what he did once a month.

A month passed by like that and it once again came time for the prince to dump the garbage. one night The princess saw the prince leaving his room secretly with his butler. She followed them and safely got on the ship. The ship sailed away from land and stopped. Once it did the princess slowly crept around and found the prince. As the prince was about to give the order the princess called out to him, "Prince". The prince and everyone else turned around. She downed the 3rd vial.

In front of the prince's eye now stood a monster, dripping blood. It had hundreds off tentacles and a deathly smirk. It walked around him, "Oh prince. You shouldn't do this." It talked in eerie scratchy voice. The prince trembled. Everyone looked at the prince confused for all they could see was the maid going in circles around the prince.

"Promise you won't ever do this", it went on. It whispered that his death would be near if he did not follow orders. The prince's knees buckled and he fell to the floor. The creature slowly traced a claw across his neck. The prince burst into tears and promised that he would never dump garbage in the sea or elsewhere. The prince pleaded for his life while sobbing. The men looked d at him with faces full of shock and amusement. The butler finally gathered enough sense and went to move the weird maid. But as soon as he took three steps the maid jumped into the sea. The butler rushed and looked over the railing but she had already disappeared.

The prince was on the floor shaking, murmuring incoherent words.

As soon as the princess jumped her legs sprang back together and she was a mermaid once more. So singing a happy tune she swam to have tea with the sea witch. It was a mission well done.

The princess continued to be deadly for those who dared to destroy nature and the prince didn't even dare to drop a piece of paper.
