Jim Moriarty sighed as he buttoned his shirt. He was going to see Charlie today. He just couldn't stop thinking about her bright eyes, so full of curiosity. And of course, he loved the side of her that was psychopathic. He also admired the fact that she didn't let that side of her get anywhere near her daughter. He hated to admit it, but the little urchin was growing on Jim.

Finished, Jim walked out seeing his sniper smirking at him. "What" he snapped as he got into his car.
"Nothing," Sebation said, getting into the driver's seat.

"No. You're thinking about something. What is it" Jim growled.

Sebastian sighed. "I just think that you and Charlie Holmes look good together. You're alike. Though, she's not murderous all the time"

Jim smiled, looking out the window "Yes. I guess we are. I don't know what it is about her. At first, she was just a part of my game. But everytime I look at her, I feel different."

Sebastian smiled again "Boss, I believe you're happy. Maybe even in love"

"Don't be ridiculous Seb. I'm just curious about her". He trusted Sebastian. He was his right hand man. Was he right? No, he couldn't be. He was Jim Moriarty! The most dangerous man in Londen! He couldn't be in love. Could he?
---
About a half an hour later, they pulled up to Charlies mansion. Jim stepped out, and rang the doorbell. A man with red hair answered.

"Could I help you?" he asked politely. Jim could see there was recognition in his eyes, but no fear. Strange.

"Yes, I was wondering if I could talk to Charlie for a minute," he said.

Andrew smiled. "Yes of course, come in"

Andrew led Jim to the kitchen, where Charlie and Chloe were making pancakes. Sometimes, they preferred to do it on their own.

"Mistress, you have a visitor." Charlie looked up at Jim, and smiled.

"Why hello. Now I know you're really stalking me. Not many people know the location of my home. Would you like some breakfast?"

Before Jim could give a 'no', Chloe hopped off the stool she was on, and ran and hugged Jim around the legs. "Hello Mr. Jim! Please stay! I made them myself!"

He was a little taken aback by this. She wanted him to stay? Normally people would make him stay because they were frightened of him. Making a decision, he smiled and nodded.

As Charlie finished up the last pancake, she gave Chloe the maple syrup, and whipped cream. Walking over to the table, she brought the pancakes, and fresh fruit.

Jim looked at the pancakes and laughed. They were of badly done hearts, and other objects. He even spotted a knife.

"This is what you do? I would have expected a little more from the supposed great Charlie Holmes" he said grabbing one off of the plate.

Charlie laughed. "I could  say the same thing about you tough guy"

After talking, and eating, she was ready to drop Chloe off at school. She turned to Jim "I understand that you wanted to talk with me, but I gotta drop Chloe off so do you mind coming?"

"Not at all"

"Perfect" she smiled. Taking the bag Andrew handed her, she gave that to Jim, as she picked Chloe up to walk into the garage.

Today they took the Mercedes since there were three of them.

The drive over to the school was a quiet one, apart from Chloe's occasional babel to her elephant.

Charlie was thinking about what she was doing. She felt strange with Jim. He made her happy. But that couldn't be right, Jim was his brother's enemy. What he did, was everything she fought with. But she couldn't shake off that feeling from deep within her.

On the other hand, Jim was nervous. He didn't even know why he was doing this! She was just supposed to be a part of his game. A distraction. But she wasn't. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get her stupid smile, or saccastic comments, or how she would stair off into the distance, deep in thought. Just her in general...

All too soon, Charlie pulled up to the preschool. Getting out, and unbuckling Chloe's seat belt, she looked at Jim "What are you doing?"

"What do you mean what am I doing? What are you doing?"

Charlie sighed "Get out, if I have to do this, than you do too"

Jim made a dramatic sigh "Fine". He got out of the car, as Charlie  handed him Chloe's backpack.

Walking into the school, they were receiving some odd looks. Normally, it was just Charlie that dropped Chloe off. Who was the new man?

After Charlie dropped off at her classroom, they were almost at the door when a man came up to them "So close" she muttered.
"Ms. Holmes, a pleasure to see you as always. Who is this?" he said with a sickly sweet voice and smiled, clearly checking Charlie out. Jim felt an odd sense of jealousy form in his chest.

"Hello Brian, this is Jim. A friend of mine. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to leave" she said, tugging Jims hand and walking off, leaving a crestfallen man.

"Who was that?" Jim asked, getting into the car.

"The principal. Apparently you get perks for donating to the school, even ones you don't want"

As Charlie drove, Jim realized that they weren't going back to the house "Where are we going?"

"You'll see"
---
10 minutes later, the pair pull up to an opening with a view of the entire city. "I found this place when I was a child" Charlie said, walking up to the ledge.

"So, what was it you wanted to talk about? Surly not just to criticize my pancakes"

Jim started fidgeting, uncomfortable as he stood there looking at the view. He finally turned to Charlie who was looking at him.

"Listen, I know we are supposed to hate each other, but when I'm with you I feel different. I hate it, because I don't know what it is. I was never good with emotions. At first, you were just a part of the game. A distraction. But now, your so much more, and I hate myself for it"

Charlie closed her eyes. If she did this, it could change the entire course of her life. She could possibly end the game. But she knew deep down, that she wanted this too. Opening her eyes, she looked into Jims brown ones.

As Jim was about to say that it was stupid, Charlie pulled him into a passionite kiss. It wasn't ruff, but it was full of need. At first, Jim was shocked but he quickly got over it, and kissed back and pulling her closer.

They both felt amazing. Like the void was finally filled. Jim couldn't help but notice that she fit perfectly against him.

As they came up for air, Charlie spoke just above a whisper but fast "If we do this, you can't keep trying to kill my brother. He is my family, and if it comes to a decision, I will choose him. You can keep playing your game, just keep it from killing each other."

"Done" Jim breathed with no hesitation.

"Also, we keep our work lives separate. We don't let it interfere with this. If it does, we choose us. And no bringing any of that stuff around Chloe. I'm trying to keep her as innocent as possible"

"Anything," Jim said again.

Just as he was about to go in for another kiss, his phone rang. He closed his eyes "Sorry"

Charlie smiled "It's ok"

Jim stepped away from her, for a little privacy. When he came back, he said "Sorry love, I have to go"

"It's fine. I need to go to work anyway. I have to supervise some training sessions. I'll drive you"

Jim finally felt happy in his life. Contempt. She will not be just another one of his games. He will make sure of it.
