"LIV!!! Come here this instant!" I heard my best friend in the world yell.
His name is Blake. Yes, I said him. Blake and I have been best friends since we could walk. Our parents are the closest of friends, at least they were.
When I was sixteen, my mom had died giving birth to my younger sister, Elizabeth. My mom died two years ago and my Dad became extremely depressed. Things that I DO NOT want to remember happened, and eventually... he killed himself.
Tragic, I know. But I became a guardian at the age of 16; for my little sister, Elizabeth, or as we like to call her, Beth. Blake, he lives with us. His parents left two years ago and they never came back. But Blake here is my very best friend. We were best friends since the first day of pre-k, and still strong now. Blake had really helped me through this, a lot.
"OLIVIA BLAKE SHAYNE! Where the hell are you?" Blake, once again, shouted around the house.
"I am coming! Calm down!" I scream, as I slip on my dark washed denim shorts. I slip on a grey long sleeved top and slipped on my black converse.
Well, I guess I don't have to introduce myself anymore, but if I do, my name is Olivia Blake. Yes, my middle name was named after my best friends'. Our parents were best friends, so Blake's full name is, Blake Olivia Adelman. Did I mention that Blake and I are both 17? We are two seventeen year olds taking care of a 2 year old girl, Beth or Elizabeth Lynn Shayne. Blake is a Lacrosse Player at Loyola, who attends college there also.
"OLIVIA! YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR YOUR MEETING!" Once again, Blake's voice filled the home. "CALM THE HELL DOWN! I'M COMING!" I yell back as I grab my phone and walk down the stairs.
I was getting ready for my job meeting; the heads of my company wanted to meet me. I worked as a roaming writer for a biography publishing company. Most people, who work here, follow the famous celebrities on their daily lives and write and publish a couple books. Since I hadn't continued to college, they were teaching me how to do this professionally.
You see, Marcus, was my dad's best friend. He had helped us out a lot. He even gave us this beautiful house to live at, all expenses paid. And he wanted to see me for a meeting, like now.
As I reach the bottom of the stairs, I see Blake casually rocking Beth to sleep.
"I'm here, now do you want to drive me there? Or should I have to walk?" I ask Blake.
"Um, Beth's will be at a play date, so I will have to be there until 4ish. And your meeting ends at 3:30. If you can find a ride that'd be great, if not, I could pick you up at 4."
"Well, alright, I'll walk." I say grabbing my credit card, giving Blake a kiss goodbye on the cheek and leaving.
Weird, I know. Giving a guy, who you're not dating a kiss goodbye. But we have known each other for so long, and we're so close, it doesn't bother us. So we kiss on the cheek, respectfully.
A picture of Olivia is on the side! (:
